I'm pretty sure there's a thread out there like this but... are there any wire facemasks that are safe? Because the fogging paintball masks get pretty annoying. Also, what types of face protection do you recommend? Thanks

I use a mesh lower with goggles up top, works flawless.

Do they cover your whole face and how much do they run?

Mesh/wire goggles are not allowed at MiA events. Here is why: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=3006They don't altogether break, but the paint chips and gets into your eyes and shit. TL;DR: don't get a pair of mesh goggles. That being said, there are some pretty good goggles that don't fog. If you ever have the chance to buy some Bolle T800's, buy them. All of them. My pair rarely ever fog up. Get a new pair of Bolle 1000's and call it a day. If you want full face cover, just wear a shemagh underneath.

I think he is referring to mesh/wire GOGGLES because he refers to problems with fogging. Facemasks are okay, but the goggles are not.

Goggle fan setup= $25
Goggle fan do it yourself = $10 in parts + a few hours of your time
Eyes: Priceless
Don't use mesh goggles. Its just not a good solution. You can kill the heaviest fog in existence with just a single goggle fan and a toggle switch to turn it on when its needed.

Yeah definitely dont just use a complete mesh mask to cover your eyes. The bbs might break on impact and go right through the mesh.

Brass Guard makes some great face masks, but you should still use some form of eye protection with them. Does anybody have any recommendations for a really low profile mesh half face mask the doesn't cover the ears? Like the "Striker" mask linked above, but without ear covering.

The striker with ear covering is generation 2 of the Striker masks. I would recommend that whatever you do you get one that has the strap that goes across the top of your head. Some of the half face masks only have two straps that wrap around the back of your head and they tend to fall down easily. The top strap ensures it stays held up.
