I was wondering if anybody know of a 16mm silencer for a KWA USP Compact. I have been looking around and can't seem to find one. Anybody know of one?

I know they are out there. TM MK23's come with them, and you can get the 16mm threaded mock suppressors in CW adn CCW from overseas. Just gotta look for 'em. I've seen 'em in HK retailer's websites, just can't remember which ones, It's been a long time since I've bought stuff from over there. I'd try Redwolf, UN Company, WGC, or any other HK based retailer. They tend to have a lot more variety in their flash-hider/suppressor category of things.
You will likely not find one stateside unless by some miracle come across a Marui MK23 owner willing to part with a broken pistol set with the suppressor included or find someone willing to part with their suppressor, which is highly unlikely to happen.

I'm still baffled as to why companies even make guns that aren't 14mm, it's pretty much the norm, now.

It's only on the newer HK USP pislol line by KWA and the KSC and TM MK23 that you see the 16mm. I have never even heard of them elsewhere.

Don't AK's use some weird size threading?

wushuangpu,
You have four posts, and three of them are two words long. Please make an effort to include more useful content in your post, or else don't hit the submit button. I can't even tell who you're agreeing with in this post, and "That's right," certainly doesn't help clarify, simplify, or explicate the subject of this thread.

Don't AK's use some weird size threading? To my knowledge, no. My old TM AK47 had standard 14mm ccw threads. I can't say for other brands, but I have never heard or seen differently.

My Echo 1 AK has a 14 mm thread. Just thought I might contribute another perspective. Here's the page I got it from: www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=2167 (It doesn't list the thread length on there, just posted the URL for reference) Edit: Just a suggestion, and don't bash on me for this as I haven't yet had a pistol in my possession, but would you be able to cut off 2 millimeters from the threading to get it to standard length? Or is this idea just silly?

It's not the length, it's the width.
Giggity.

When referring to metric thread sizes (and standard, really) the first number is the diameter. In this case, 16mm diameter, xx thread taper. On a bolt/screw, xx diameter, xx thread taper, xx length.
CONTENT : For your USP, is the barrel threaded female or male? I've never seen one.

My old KJW Tactical was threaded male, but also 14mm. I imagine that these are also threaded male.

I'm guessing male means a positive thread?

No, it's the dick thread. It fits inside the female threading. If you think about it as a nut and bolt, male threading is the bolt and female threading is the nut.

When I worked as a machinist, it was listed as OD thread or ID thread. I have never seen thread listed as "Male " or "Female". Same thing with "+" & "-" or "CW" or "CCW", thread is always right hand unless otherwise noted. Sorry to nit pick, but it has been driving me crazy for a while.
