Does anyone know of a local outdoor "woodland" or "forest" airsoft arena? Particularly private, where forts can be built, or already are, etc?
Eventually I plan on buying land here in southeast michigan (or somewhere to the west) with the sole purpose of airsoft. I would clear it out to an extent and make the entire area playable/customizable. Wooden forts, camp areas, designated electricity spots for charging (for longer durations) vehicles, etc.
How reasonable is this? Is there anyone out there who would finance a project like this? Would anyone be interested in attending say a 3-day weekend war with designated camo, even teams, rules and restrictions, and even those hunting cameras on trees everywhere?
I would think you could charge anywhere from 100-150+ per person, and your camo could be included in that cost?
This is all purely hypothetical and a dream of mine, if I ever have the funds to purchase the land. Maybe someone on here already has land that they dont use? Who knows, let me know what you think/more ideas!
Why do the best outdoor airsoft arenas have to be overseas, or in california? Lets get MICHIGAN on the map people!

There's nothing wrong with dreaming but before you make grand plans, you should really get more experience and touch base with reality.
The majority of the stuff you have suggested will not work.
Take a look in the events section and you will find a few current fields that are already being used although they are mostly paintball fields. Take a look at the rules, the cost for games, and so on.
At the price range you are suggesting, you are entering into the lions claws events category where people are expecting vehicles, actual military personnel, hundreds of acres of playable area, buildings, and hundreds of participants.
The only way you will really get real advise here is if you've "put some money where your mouth is" and actually purchased a field, otherwise it is a waste of time to come up with ideas and plans for something that only has a possibility of happening.

That's what im talking about though, pre-registered, a lot of people and just something new. Nothing wrong with getting opinions first. Plus, I may just give someone who owns a field a good idea. As far as experience goes, I have plenty, and as far as reality, I know that I will have land in the future (couple of years) and this is what Id like to do with it. Why would anyone go out on a limb and create a field like this without any feedback from the airsoft community first?

I don't see you ever being able to match Lion Claws. Lion Claws are massive events that draw players from all over the country. Unless you have thousands upon thousands of dollars to invest in a field full of vehicles as well as other items. The camouflage is just unrealistic people have their own Camo and don't want to have to pay for a different set. Look up some of the Lion claws events and you'll see what you would have to plan. It is a big undertaking. Sure a nice field would be great a field for milsim's but nothing on the level of Lionclaws.

Ok lets play that game.
When I get older I have plans to buy cedar point and turn it into an airsoft park. Could you guys give me suggestions?
Open ended threads that may or may not happen don't get very good responses around here. Come back in 2 years when you have that land or are in direct talks to acquire it. If another person actually owns a field and wants to do something, they can make their own posts.
You are probably one of 10 or 15 people who have come here asking for the same thing promising that they are getting property or a building and are for sure doing something airsoft related with it and so far, not one person has done it. You are more than welcome to prove me wrong but I've been around a while and chances are, nothing will come of this.

To be honest, it's an issue of practicality. Many have had the same dream, and my team is not exempt. But to be honest, the startup costs are astronomical. Bear in mind that LC events host games on MASSIVE fields, Op: LC for instance, is held on about 2,000 acres of property. Now, as I said, my team and I toyed with the idea and actually have been looking at land in the Genessee county area (where we are all from, for the most part) and in order to snag anywhere from 18-20 acreas (only 1/100th the size of Op:LC) you're looking at a price tag of around $50,000 to $60,000. And that's for the land. Not to mention building supplies, which in case you've never been a part of building a field, is not only a time consuming process, but rather pricey. As I said, the idea has come up with our team, as I'm sure it has with many a team. But when it comes to practicality and loans, and so on- starting up a field is considerably more complicated than many think, but many like to come on the forums with "any interest in an outdoor field in ________ county?" They always get resounding affirmatives and end with very disappointed players. Although, while I love the Cedar Point idea Arc, it should probably go on the Ohio Airsoft forums
