Mods feel free to move this if its in the wrong section. I was planning on ordering this off of UN company aand was wondering if I should have them put tape over the trades, or putty. www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=27713Dont want it to get seized by customs, and I really dont want the trades destroyed. Any helpful advice, feedback, or previous experiences that you can use to help me? Much appreciated.

What would you go with? I'm worried Customs will peel off the tape.

Tape. The bottom line is that if customs does indeed decide to open your box, neither method will stop them from finger banging it thoroughly. You just have to hope it slips through all together.
My TM Glock itself came with E-Tape on it, Glock 17 Guarder Slide came with Skateboard, and E-Tape all over the Glock trades on the box.
This all from Airsoft Global though. I'd go see if they have it on their site at a comparable price. They're the only overseas place I personally trust will get me my shiz without it being seized. I've ordered every trademarked AEG and gun I've owned through them without a problem or seizure.

I've heard UN company was pretty good about getting things through.
How hard was it to remove the tape? And was there any residue/marks left over?
Appreciate the help!

Easy and very minimal.

If there is any residue left by the tape, wouldn't "Goop Off" finish it off for a clean slide.

It could, but it might also mar the plastic, defeating the purpose of cleaning the unsightly residue off of your gun.
I haven't ordered from UNC in years, so I don't know if they're still using the same putty that they used to. But back in the day, their putty was the best. It was sort of like liquid electrical tape--very plasticy. It stuck to the guns well enough that customs never stopped them, but once you got a corner picked up, you could peel the whole sheet away. It never left any residue or really any mark that it had been there at all. My old team got a lot of guns in the country with perfectly intact trades thanks to that putty. If they're still using it, then putty is the way to go from them.

Thanks Knief. I hear Putty has a much higher chance of getting in.

Like I said though, it's been years since I've ordered from UNC. They might use a different putty these days. It still might be worth a shot, though. That's obviously your choice.

Should I be worried that the putty will be black and the slide is tan? Is it something that will be easier to notice by customs? Or is it nothing to worry about?

The tape will be black, too. The putty isn't there to make it look like there are no trades, it's there to make it look like the trades have been filled in.

Hadn't even thought of that. At this point I think the Putty is going to be the better choice.
The only reason I was looking into the tape is because I had A G&P body off of Ehobby and the putty was really nasty.

I bought my G19 slide off of AirsoftGlobal as well as my Noveske MUR upper and lower and both were taped. No issues with either, got the slide last January and the receivers this summer. By FAR the fastest shipping I have had overseas as well.
