I recently came across a pair of Motorola cx 105 microtalks and for the life of me, I can't turn off that annoying roger beep. I'd like to have these for backups because I've had a rough history with radios but I won't if I can't turn off these annoying beeps. I've tried holding the up button while turning the device on. This does nothing and doesn't even allow the radio to turn on. I've tried searching through the mode funstions and there is only volume and channel. Does anyone know how to turn them off? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to Google for a manual but it only shows Cobra CX105 Microtalks. Are you sure yours are Motorola?

My apologies. You're right, the Cobra microtalk. I'm used to the talkabout and had that in my head. Where did you find the manual?
Edit:
Unless you're talking about the one page one that has absolutely no useful information. I looked at that and saw no instructions on how to remove the beep.

Sadly that was the only thing I found. If there's a way to disable it, it's not in the instruction sheet or Cobra's FAQ. You could try emailing their customer service people and see what they tell you.

I'm going to call them now. Thanks for looking into it. I really appreciate your time.
Edit: I called and they told me that model cannont adjust the roger beep.

Just to let you know, and I am not trying to sound like a dick, but that will really annoy people fast at bigger games. Two things that drive people crazy on comms, and that's VOX and roger beeps.

Yup. I'm not going to use them for games. I've already got a new one. I'm sure my family will appreciate these whenever we go somewhere.
