It's an E1 SCAR.

Mods, move this to Quick Tips and Pro Fixes? It seemed like an extremely straightforward answer to a question that many people may want to know about who have never done this before.

I have noticed the SCAR question comes up a lot. I edited the title to better reflect the topic.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the E1 scar is the same as JLS, is it?

Good call. The JLS is not the same.
Quick Google search brought up this video made by an Echo 1 tech. His methods make me cringe, but he does show how to remove the box. Those gears for the selector levers suck. My CA comes apart the same way, and there really is no easy way to do it. Just pry the body apart to clear the gears.
