During black eagle four, I was told by my squad leader to go across a field of what seemed to be knee high mud. With out question I went into the mud head first with Grey Fox (Not the real Grey Fox ) I only got to about five feet forward before I found myself in a rather bad situation. While trying to figure out how stuck I was in this mud I happened to notice Grey Fox leap forward and he sank down up to his waist in the mud. Grey Fox yelled with a father like passion "Save the Guns", I found out later he had just bought his M4 and had just recently placed a camera on it, and the MP5 I was using belonged to my brother. So we passed the guns to Phantom and after a good ten minutes Grey Fox was able to wiggle his way out and to safety. After a good five minutes later I realized that my luck went from bad to worse, My ankle was caught between a branch and could only be lifted up at a certain angle, and another branch was adjacent to my knee so every time I was pulled toward land my knee cap was being pushed in the opposite direction. So twenty minuets waist high in the mud we contacted a moderator to help us out, We started off taking the "Quick Sand Approach" were I would lie backwards and be pulled out. The branch holding my ankle down didn't let that happen. The next idea was we placed a nice amount of logs on the mud so the moderator could get closer to pull me out, The other branch pushing against my knee cap made that a painful attempt. After a good five minutes of thinking and me digging mud away from my leg, the moderator was able to get in a position in front of me and pull just enough to free my ankle, then I was immediately pulled out of the mud and to safety. Phantom took care of Grey Fox and my guns and gear while a moderator escorted us off the field, luckily we were able to get a hold of a hose and we washed most of the mud off and lucky for me Piper had a spare set of everything for me to wear so I was able to play in the night game. That is also how and why I changed my Call sign from Mortalis to Quick Sand.
