I am currently starting to write out an OP. I was thinking of doing it like the sniper cup but for teams of 4, and do more sof style of play. What does every one think? If you have in put or have attended the sniper cup contact me via email@
Vicious2@sprint.blackberry.net
I would appreciate any help or input.

Interesting idea. How would you set it up? Would you do two teams at a time in sort of a bracket style tourney, or throw them all in the mix and have it be last man standing?

I think I have a name:
The 2011 Michigan Sniper Olympics!
With such events as: sharpshooting, sight targeting, pole vaulting only using length of your gun, who can spend the most money on their rifle, Golf, where you use your gun as a club, and curling!

Hahaha! Now that sounds like fun. I'll get a gold in pole vaulting, Golf, and curling. I just need to buy a sniper rifle now. But in all seriousness, I think it should be expanded into more of a "Top Shot" event (like on the History channel) where people are required to use less accurate guns such as ARs as well. That way, we can see who really is the best sharpshooter regardless of what weapon they use. But I don't know exactly know how it would be planned out in terms of actually getting the different guns and the fact that ARs (AEGs) are inconsistent in terms of FPS.

I disagree. having participated in the First ever sniper cup, I believe It should strictly be sniper/spotter teams engaging eachother and a small team of shooters, just like the First one. If I were going to put this together, I would PM Mosin for some Ideas.

I am 50/50 between carnage and timm. I think it would be better to split it off into two seperate event because they both sound like a decent idea
also timm, is there sniper cup still going on? I remember looking into it a few years back but knowing it was way out of my league but I am still interested in potentialy playing a future sniper cup. It looked like a decent amount of fun to get my butt kicked before I saw what hit me

Ok thanks for the in put. So what I'm gearing towards is an event which is 2 events in one the sniper/spotter teams will deploy at 0600 and will have their own specific missions which would gain points for their respective teams. Mean while a normal event will be going on around the sniper teams, and every one else will have normal missions as per every event I've attended. Such as hold the bridge/ take the bridge, demo a building, ambushes, and so on. The snipers would be taking on the roll of taking out high level targets and providing cover for P.O.W. extractions, recon intel. missions. What do you guys think of something like that?

Ok so I have about 170ish slots open so far. I haven't written out any missions for any of the teams but does any one have a suggestion for an A.O. If so let me know, because I was thinking "Hell Survivors" for the field.

Hell Survivor is awesome if you can get them to let you play. Last I heard you needed a substantial amount of money to get the field, or you needed to play during the off season (November through March, maybe?). Cold weather and accurate shooting don't exactly go hand in hand, as hop up rubbers tend to harden up and metal gets brittle, which is a real problem in high stress systems. I'd look for a different venue, myself.
