Thanks for the link. In the end you don't save much cash buying a UTG metal trigger box and upgrading the sears, plus the Zero trigger will get me a better performance. Still I wish they'd give you a metal trigger box new.

Yeah, it is a better option to just save up for the laylax box. Buying all the sears only to see the stock box itself crack/shatter will make you a bit angry. And I agree, wish the stock box had a metal outer shell. Then I would feel confident replacing the sears as the shell itself would be able to handle its own.

It's funny and makes me sad that the "cocked indicator pin" is installed in the UTG, but not used because the screw they use on the bolt handle is solid.

Are you referring to the small pin that makes a "clicking" noise when you cock the rifle? What do you mean by the screw being used on the bolt handle is solid? Sorry, I am having trouble understanding what you said. After you explain it to me I have the feeling that I will feel stupid.

That long-ass rod with the little spring attached to it, on the Maruzen L96, gets compressed back inside of the bolt so that a tiny portion sticks out of the back of the charging handle (through the screw that attaches the handle assembly to the bolt) when it is cocked.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

I got both the utg l96 and Maruzen L96, and i feel like i can hit thing with the maruzen l96 with no upgrade better then i can with the utg l96. I have never saw my bbs fly in the same path with my utg l96. But with my Maruzen every shot was almost dead on. p.s Good review for the utg l96 i have been looking for a range test

But with my Maruzen every shot was almost dead on. p.s Good review for the utg l96 i have been looking for a range test I could barely understand what you just said, but here is my attempt to explain the bits and pieces that I did understand. 1. The maruzen is higher priced for a reason. The UTG is a clone, and obviously will be inferior to a maruzen out of the box. 2. You need to do some work with the MK96. That is do some mods (clean barrel, align bucking (which is most likely off center), teflon tape cylinder head/piston head, etc.) 3. While the performance of the UTG out of the box for me was not super awesome, it got the job done until I could scrounge up the money for upgrades. Simple mods and some work can really make it a decent rifle to use. However, upgrades are a must as the parts wear down due to their low quality.

a lot of poeple try to tell me the utg is better out of the box just because they see that is shoot 450 out of the box. But fps is nothing if the bbs do not go straight. I am most likely turning my utg in to a snow sniper rifle. I do tell poeple if they are not sure if they want to be a sniper to get the utg l96

Not exactly sure why you posted that. Unless you have some valuable information or question pertaining to this thread, please stop posting this jargon. It barely has any relevance. You are just ranting about how you hate your UTG.
