I recently picked up the new Umarex (ARES) G36C along with 5 of the STAR G36 140rd magazines. (I was going to get MAG brand like I normally would, but they were out of stock at the stores I normally buy from) Anyway I loaded a magazine up and go to shoot, it feeds horribly. It would fire maybe one of every three shots on semi and would often dry fire on auto. The high-cap mag that game with the gun feeds flawlessly. I tried lubing up the mags, this didn't help at all.
I did a bit of research and found someone that said the mags could be slightly off center when the mag is loaded into the gun, causing a piece of plastic to impede the path of the bbs into the hop up chamber.
Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this? Or if it could be something completely different? Or should I just forget about them and get some MAG g36 mags?
Thanks

Strange, I've used mine for the past 5 years and they still feed perfectly. I could see them being offset or something though. You could try examining how they tend to sit in the magwell and utilize some sort of spacer to re-align them so feed in a direct line or if you can file something down, that could be an option as well.

if you can file something down You probably need to file down that piece on the magazine that holds all the bbs inside of the magazine, the tiny little plastic piece. That's what you need to do for some AR mags for many G&G's. Don't file too much off though, or the bbs will spray out whenever you load it.

Thanks guys. Pariah, that was the first thing I thought to do but I was afraid of sanding too much off that stopper piece. I'll give it a shot . Edit: I tested it on one mag. I sanded the stopper piece quite a bit, to the point where if you smack the mag a few bbs will pop out... Even flew out a bunch on their own once. I put the mag in the gun and it feeds exactly the same... firing every third, fourth shot.. I'm lost. Edit: Edit: Fixed it. It wasn't the stopper piece. I guess some how the mouth of the magazine where the bbs come out wasn't wide enough. So they would kind of jam themselves against each other. To fix it I took the top portion of the magazine off and sanded down the mouth of the magazine and clean the excess plastic off. Now they all shoot fine.
