Has anyone ever barrel mounted an M203 under a Daniel Defense MK18II 7" RIS upper? I noticed that the bottom section isn't entirely one piece, and I am not sure if it would interfere with the M203 mount? My gut says no because the M203 mount will clear with a standard hand guard and delta ring.

If the barrel diameter is correct it will mount fine. I have the 9" version and it works fine on my M4 length front. However I have a G&G Top Tech M16A3 and that outer barrel is too large to set the barrel mount on so I have to tear down the entire front (sight, front hand guard mount) and slide the launcher on.

The DD RIS II is designed to have the bottom section detach and barrel mount a m203.

To get around this a long time ago on my G&G, I took the front sight off and cut off the bottom portion of the front sight post that was in the way of the M203 on a band saw. You could use hand tools to do it as well. You can kind of see it here. Don't laugh, this was from the days before FDE furniture and Block II rifles.

I think it looks pretty cool, exactly what I am going for. However, I have hit a MAJOR road block. The DD MK18II rail I purchased is too long to fit with the triangle sight, about an 1/4" too much. The barrel nut is also slightly too tight, making it want to strip the threads out. Not sure if its out of spec (piece of shit China parts) or the paint/coating on the CTW is too thick. Originally I wanted to go with a KA CASV, but they are IMPOSSIBLE to find.

The Socom Gear DD rails should be exactly to real spec, so those should work on the CTW no problem, assuming the CTW is as close to real spec as the actual PTWs are.
Not sure if that's what you bought or not though.

Yeah i'm not sure what the brand is, its definitely from China though so thats probably the issue. The CTW's dimensionally are equal to PTW's and RS as far as i'm aware. The only difference with the 2011 models are that they use a different cylinder that is easier to open up/work on/change springs/shim. This is a pretty cool feature, but unfortunately the cylinder design is slightly different and I believe it is incompatible with PTW uppers. Not sure if its the same vice versa.

It could be the angle of the photo, but it looks like your front knockout pin on the triangle sight isn't centered, which could mean the specs are off in other places also. When you say you barrel nut is too tight and it wants to strip them, is it stripping the top of the threads or cutting through them. If it's cutting through them the flights might have a different angle on them, instead of a 1 they might be a 1.5.
One of the other guys might be able to clarify, but the threading on a CTW might be different than other airsoft guns, like G&P is. *IF* that is the problem you might have to buy the Madbull re-threading tool and re cut the threads to fit. Another alternative, I replaced my front triangle sight with a gas block, but I'm using a 9" MK18 on an standard M4 barrel.
