I'm new here, and haven't played airsoft in years...
That being said, I did a google search and found this site, I haven't hide time to dig through and find info yet, but I was wondering if there was a large group of people playing airsoft on the west side of Michigan? Do you guys think there is enough people playing that would be interested in doing tournaments etc (maybe they already are) and do they need more places to hold the matches/tourneys?
I have a few locations that could offer some good scenarios if there is enough interest.
One of those locations is the local HOME roller rink. It could easily be converted for arena play. I have already talked to the owner and he is interested. He had never heard of airsoft before, but after I talked with him about it, he was interested in learning more... as I mentioned before, I haven't been involved in airsoft for years and have no idea how many currently play in my area. I'd love to see some awesome tourneys specially milsims! Another location (not finished yet) is a great hostage relief style building. It has multiple entrances, large open area, smaller rooms, and loft area. It would be a great place to exercise strategy and tactics...
Anyway, I thought this wood be a great idea if there were enough people playing.
Let me know what you guys think Derek (E Clips)

There are a lot of views, but not a single reply?
Anyone have any input they would like to add?

Players are scattered all over Michigan, proximity only matters to a certain degree... If the field, event, scenario, etc are appealing to players, they will come. The only other issue is, that airsoft really doesn't have tournaments per se. We tend to call them events, military simulations, etc. My suggestion to you: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=eventplanningmain&action=display&thread=20186&page=1Also, pictures are helpful. =) My other question for you is; have you attended a major event before? It's not exactly something that's easy to do. A lot of different factors and variables go into hosting airsoft events.

Well hello, I am also in Holland. My friends and I are getting back into airsoft, and looking for more local spots.

Yeah, I see there are some pretty big events done around here... they look awesome! I was looking more at small tourneys, maybe even broken up over weeks or months. I.E. 24 teams, 6 matches each saturday. The tourney will last a month, but that will give teams time to practice and develop strategy. I understand there is a lot of planning to do, and those experienced in AS tourneys should lead the way. I was simply wondering if there would be enough local excitement to plan something.
Slackervr6; check out the HOME rollerrink... at the very least, they have an arena for matches...
