Classic Army P90
I recently regained interest in my old P90 and decided to bring it out of retirement. It started life as a lowly sportline and introduced me to the sport. I basically cut my teeth on this AEG and slowly upgraded it. Anyone who played back in the old Phoenix Tactical days will probably remember it. I can only estimate the amount of rounds that have been through it. Enough that I burned up two sets of contacts, went through the brushes on the stock motor and a G&P M120 motor, ate up three pistons, wore down two cut off levers, one 9.6V battery, and wore down the stock tappet plate to the point that it wouldn't feed. The receiver is shiny and smooth in the areas where my hands have worn down the texture, and the plastic upper is scarred from all the bb hits it has taken. After all that it is back for more. It is internally all freshened up and back in top shape. Despite being a sportline (not that much of anything left is sportline...) it is still the easiest AEG to make perfect. All I need is a way to mount my scout light on the side rail.
Gearbox:
Sportline shell
6mm bushing holes drilled to 7mm with 440C stainless bushings I turned myself
Prometheus stainless steel cut off lever
Standard CA gears from a 7mm proline X-series
JG sector chip
CA yellow X-series piston and bearing piston head
Modify O-ring nozzle
Modify dual O-ring cylinder head
Prometheus stainless type-0 cylinder (due to dual bearings and sorbo)
Scatterplot V6 3/16" sorbo
Bearing spring guide
PDI 140% spring (Shooting low due to dual bearings and sorbo, but hits around 1J for the TK twist barrel)
Xtremefire SW-II MOSFET
G&P M120 motor (new)
Hop up:
Plastic Sportline chamber (amazingly consistent)
Modded hop arm for more travel
Modify Baton flat hop bucking
R-hop
247mm Tanio Koba TK twist barrel
Externals:
Echo 1 E90 68rd midcaps
King Arms Gemtec SP90 QD suppressor and flash hider
Video proof of its performance.
Finally had some good light so I snapped a bunch of random shots.
Polarstar Project
My MK12 MOD 0 has had my P* in it for a while, and when I wanted to try the P* out indoors....it didn't feel right. Decided to do the sane thing and build a second platform for it. Externals are all G&P and are solid. I installed a purple nozzle and gold low flow poppet. After some tuning I was able to get it to run very smoothly. One of my team mates has an S2 Lightning banjo valve waiting for me and I'll pick it up this weekend. Excited to see if that helps with my shoot down.
Setup is:
P* FE V2 Gen3
Purple nozzle
Gold low flow poppet with orange shim
75psi inlet pressure
Poppet dwell at 06 (tried going lower but no difference, I don't think the solenoid reacts fast enough)
Pro-Win hop up with extended front screw
Prometheus EG 6.03 363mm barrel
Chrono'd with Madbull .3's on my Xcortec 3200
300 +/- 3 FPS @ 1.3J
I have a PTS Griffin Armament M4SD-II for it as well, but forgot to take a picture of it. ACOG will be swapped for EoTech for indoor use. Just looks good with an ACOG.
Trades are again so fresh they have tape marks on them still.
One of the few AEG bodies I've seen with the right side trades engraved. Not sure about the KAC trades though....
