That m14 looks really sweet Tex. I doubt you even own that one anymore but now I want a socom with a silencer.

How often do you see giant patches of black during the day? It's called darkness....

If your playing in a woodland area with a lot of big trees to cast a lot of shadows then you could get away with using a black gun. Total darkness is not necessary for black to blend in. And besides it's not like black is a color that stands out very much. If I decide not to paint camo on the new rifle I am going to get camo clothe tape and wrap my gun with that. I will be buying this rifle after working at a haunted house in the fall.
I am not painting the rifle I am wrapping it in camo instead. Camo tape(the cloth kind that sticks to itself and not to anything else) -Offers good concealment -Removable. -Can change the pattern depending on where you are playing -Can stick vegetation from the field into it to conceal myself more. -No need to paint my new rifle.
OK that is what I am going to use for camo instead of paint on my new rifle. I will leave it black, but when I am out on the field playing I will have it wrapped in camo.
I do think that is a good substitute to painting and I mentioned this before but no one seemed to read it. Black works OK, but I will have a multitude of different types of camo cloth to use on my rifle and it will work in many fields and conditions.

Darkness during the day. That's a new one to me. Christ, if you get in a bush where noone can see you, noone will find you unless they get really close and touch you. And I don't really know how tan is good camo in a wooded area in the first place. Vampyre was actually pretty well hidden with that rifle of his when I played with him. I don't think camo really matters because noone really pays attention to it when they're playing. Camo isn't to match vegetation, it breaks the shape up.

But, you seriously thought I was well hidden playing on the field last time? That is really awesome to hear. I I agree with you on what camo is supposed to do. It is to break shapes up that is the whole philosophy behind camo, that is what any military goes for when designing new camo patterns.

Ohh my goodness, drop the conversation about black camo please! This thread is for posting camo jobs and commenting on them, not for posting about future guns. If you wish to talk to each other about your black camo guns than save it for the chat section. Everyone please leave this thread to guns that are painted now and your comments about them.

+1 Spartan for getting this thread back on track. Got rid of the ugly color of the stock (some kind of green) and gave it an olive coat. Rifle wraps for the scope.

I finally have a new camera and I have been able to take a good picture of my FMR. I think I may have set the color to be a little over-saturated and vivid. I know the color is off the wall but I don't care.

Hey Tex, I love the color on your M14, I was planning to paint mine the same way but I'm too damn lazy hah! Anyways, I was wondering if your M14 is a G&G? If so, how did you attach the silencer, I've heard that G&G's 14's couldn't accept silencers...

That M14 was a Tokyo Marui Socom 16, however, I currently own a G&G. I haven't tried to put a silencer on it yet... it's already super long. But I would presume you just remove the flash hider and screw it onto the barrel....

Well yeah presumably, however, I've never seen a G&G with a silencer and a google search has showed that no one has been able to do it...if you do manage to get one on though, definatly let me know.
