Personally, I saw nothing but good airsofting today. As C.O. of the green team, I say with great sincerity that every member of T.E.A.M. should be very proud of themselves. We had a bit of inexperience, but with properly placed leadership, positive attitudes and a willingness to push forward with enthusiasm, we were able to successfully complete EVERY objective.
Alpha Squad: This squad was our support. Although leadership of this squad changed a few times as players came and left, the squad maintained solidarity and held up our firelines whenever they were called forward. Alpha squad is what made our waves of attack appear to be unending.
Bravo Squad: Led first by Spaz and then by Chavo, this squad regularly faced numbers greater than their own in order to create room for Charlie squad to complete/find/capture objectives. Although a few of the players in this squad seemed pretty inexperienced at first, they all followed Spaz's commands and quickly became deadly. A+ work for whoever served on this squad.
Charlie Squad: Led by Reaper from Immortal, this squad dominated. Having only one, I did not hesitate to give the medic to Charlie squad. These guys were responsible for collecting the skull, the box and the enemy C.O. They also took the bus castle in round 1 and the house (4 times) in round 2. This front line squad was nothing short of superb.
Delta Squad: This squad was my little bodyguard unit of civvies that only existed in round 1. Having been only their first event, these little guys really impressed me. They did an excellent job helping hold the house and they played with a lot of heart.
T.E.A.M. Objectives: 1. Hold the house for 30 minutes - COMPLETED 2. Hold the bus castle for 15 minutes - COMPLETED 3. Find the skull - COMPLETED 4. Find the medic box - COMPLETED 5. Find the 7 relics - COMPLETED (we found 3 while tan found 2) 6. Capture the enemy C.O. - COMPLETED
Futureball was a great success! Experienced today was the same high-octane action that I have come to expect from any event hosted by the Kzoo Crew. The objectives inspired aggression and the structure of the overall gameplay was absolutely masterful. The movement of spawn points was brilliant. In Short:
Field: 8/10 Reffing: 10/10 Objectives: 10/10 Players: 10/10 That guy who made us use barrel covers and told us that an airsoft gun shattered a car window: 1/10
Overall: 9/10

That's not the only thing that came up. If you want further info Knief feel free to PM me.
All-in-all the players enjoyed them selves and that's what really matters to me. I feel as if the first half was a little rough due to matters that I had no control over unfortunatly. Once things got rolling everything ran smoothly. The second half really blew up with non-stop action and serious firefights. Carvin~You did an excellent job C.O.'ing my man. You made me proud, keep up the good work. To everyone who attended I thank you and hope to see you at Chapter III/Splatmandu. The first time an airsoft event has ever been held there ought to be quite epic.

Airsoft guns can shatter car windows. I have seen certain kinds of BBs do so in person.

Biovals can (reportedly). I've never seen any other kind of bb break windows, especially car windows. I mean, you need a SERIOUS force to break a windshield (windshields don't shatter, they are designed to crack and come off in one piece). A side window on the other hand could shatter, but I honestly don't see a bb doing that. The only time I've seen a window break from a bb was a bioval bb being shot at a very old, beat up van window in a paintball field that had been shot hundreds (if not more) of times by paintballs already. Even then, it just put a bb-sized hole in the window, it didn't shatter it.

Biovals DO shatter car windows. We've had first had experience...I have nothing else to say. I'm guessing someone's car got trashed?
Anyone get pictures of the field??

Lets just put it this way– I don't think shattered windows decreased the value of the cars on the field any.
The Futureball employees just seem to have a natural dislike of airsoft.
One of guys said that airsoft was more dangerous then paintball. C'mon… really
They were preaching about all about the rules, but in the end they they failed to meet their own obligations to the airsoft community.
I mean… kicking us off the field for Paintballers – that was BS.
I get the impression that they were more satisfied with making their regular customers happy than full-fulling obligations to the airsoft community. Which is fine I fully understand that decision from a business perspective.
Personally, I say F**k Futureball.
The game though and scenarios were kick@ss. The KZOO crew put on a hell of a Milsim event and Carvin did a great job leading his team to victory. I knew I was in for more many walks to the respawn when I moved to the tan team second round,I have nothing else to say.
In the end though I didn't enjoy the politics and general attitude of upper staff towards airsoft. So I don't see myself going back to that field.

No ones car got trashed. We actually were offered to come back but I don't see that happening any time soon Nothing more than some bullsh#@ really. I was promised gold and recieved bronze basically.
I'm just very grateful that the players still had a great time when I was dissapointed in the staff of the field. I obviously place high expectations on myself because I thought I could of been a lot better but EVERYONE else said they really enjoyed themselves. That's a good thing I think...

Howdy,
I had a pretty enjoyable time at this event. The game during the second half of the day was probably the best as there was a lot more movement.
The field itself was "ok." I heard people comparing the size of it to the Hell's Survivors field in Pinckney. A lot of us played there for Durbond a month or two ago and the field at Futureball was nowhere near the same size. Despite the size of the field, it had a lot of decent obstacles, etc. Having a full size two story building to fight from or towards was a blast.
Can't say I had any trouble with people not calling their hits, although the green team (of which I was a part) had some relatively new and younger players on it. Not to cast aspersions, but those are the types of players who we (usually) have the most trouble with.
I was quite pleased by the majority of the event staff / hosts. I thought that the refs, both paintball and airsoft, did a decent job. I was a bit disappointed when we got kicked off of "our" field and had to let paintballers play. Somewhere in the info posted for this event it was stated that we would have the field to ourselves for the day.
I was especially pleased by the safety briefing, the efforts of the refs to make sure that guns were unloaded and barrel condoms in use, etc. I have been to too many airsoft games were safety is looked at as secondary and this was a refreshing change. I have no problem with refs, owners, hosts, etc "preaching" about rules and safety as those things are of critical importance.

I was promised gold and recieved bronze basically. That's a great way to put it. It's exactly how us SEMIA guys felt every time we hosted there, which is why we stopped. Here's the short story of what happened with the car windshield: They claimed we broke the owner's father's windshield when his car was parked out by one of the fields (behind the safety net). We argued that we did not. None of us event hosts saw it, and none of the participants claimed to witness anything like that. We then went on to explain that an airsoft gun can't break a car windshield. We then went on to demonstrate it by slapping a red cylinder into a PTW (Gunslinger's) and unloading a full mag on full auto into one of our own windshields. After such a convincing display, the owner decided that it was only right to make every airsofter pay an extra $5 on their entry fee until he felt that the windshield was paid off. I think we went back once after that and said fuck it when he gave us the full face mask rule. Now, I could see an airsoft bb cracking side windows. But a windshield is designed to take much harder hits from stones (harder and pointier than bbs) kicked up on the road without chipping or cracking. It just doesn't seem likely to any of us that it happened, let alone that it's even possible.

Kazz,
Glass's comment is fully welcome. He's seen an airsoft gun crack a car window first hand, which is relevant input for the conversation at hand. Discussion in AAR threads is not limited to game attendees only, and Glass said nothing that unfairly disparages your event (since he said nothing about it at all). Though this thread is about your event, you have no right to tell a member not to post relevant, non-inflammatory comments in it.
[edit] Kazz deleted the post that this is in response to.

The futureball guy decided to tell us stories of how he watched airsoft player take their guns and shoot out a windshield. So back to the game. I had a blast and loved running Charlie squad to death, we never stopped moving. Breaching the house multiple times with Bison was intense and pulling out the CO under the counteratack from the respawn was just as crazy. I wasn't a big fan of getting blasted by my own team so many times, the first time I was walking towards the bus castle with my rifle down holding the objective wearing all GREEN and everyone started ripping into me, my squad members following me are still laughing about the amount of bb streams lancing at me, then the house and so forth, I have nothing else to say. Also with the whole getting taken off the field, even though it was major BS and futureball should hang their heads in shame, I am happy it was at the begining instead of the middle of the event. Great job KZOO, I played at chapter 1 and now 2 and both games I have come home with calluses on my trigger finger

hey guys, just wanted to say that everyone did a great job. I was the medic on tan team with the dread locks haha. Green team did a fantastic job and if there was an incident where i was shot and didn't call hit, my apologies, I may not have felt them. You all are very good shots, I remember when i got struck from 70 feet away by a sniper near the bus, which is a hard shot to make, hit me in my arm. good kill. Much respect for you guys, and gladly called all my hits.
Tan team did a woderful job with the little we had. Our co was great as all of our team was. I noticed where people would yell medic and i couldn't make it in time, my apologies for that as well. didn't have a problem with hit calling or any of that. great job guys.

With the exception of the late start due to the field owners, this was one helluva event. I encountered little hit calling issues and didn't have any issues with poor sports. The objectives did a good job of keeping the game rolling, especially in the second half. Even though there was a small lake in the center of the field it created more choke points and added some variety from the last time I played there. Great job green team for pretty much taking every objective and keeping up the fight. We had good coordination thanks to Carvin, and Immortal did a great job of taking objectives and making life hell for the tan side. The highlight of the event for me was when me and Reaper took the house and held it until friendly reinforcements came and lit us up . Kudos to the tan team for holding the house during the second half of the day. We kept throwing bodies at you and yall kept knocking them down. I had about 3-4 of you pinned down when I was at the wooden fence outside the house for a while until someone managed to flank my ass on my right without me ever knowing they were there. Great job whoever that was. Thanks for a great game Tino. I'll definitely be going to your next event.
