As the name implies, what would you think of one, and would you show up? I realize that it is winter at the moment, but they really need all the help they can get.

A charity game would be good but what would be even better is if people just skipped the game all together and just plain donate the $20 or whatever it would have taken to go to a game. There's tons of opportunities out there.

What's up with Haiti? Is it all of a sudden a more shittier country than it always has been?

Kinda looks like Detroit... except more people care.

Kinda looks like Detroit... except more people care. Indeed. How about a charity event for our own home? Detroit could use it. Habitat for humanity or something.

As to why I donated to Wounded Warrior instead of Haiti.

So a poor country builds up on a fault line. Has an earthquake, their shacks fall over and we have to donate a ton of money? I don't think so. There are plenty of other things I'd rather donate to.

For me it's not so much as donating for the "shacks" that fell over. It is getting them the MUCH needed medical supplies and clean water for the thousands of wounded and dieing human lives.

I'm glad that some of you are unpretentious about your lack of sympathy for the plight of others. You think people want to live in a poor area with terrible building codes and abject poverty? What gives us the right to live so well? Just as we're born into privilege, they're born into poverty. Shit happens, yeah, but maybe we should contribute to improving the human condition.

Psychosis,
Sadly you're looking for humanity in a place where it's becoming an increasingly rare commodity. This forum is getting sad.
