I'm hoping to put together a small map of airsoft sites in the Michigan area, and then check them out and see if they work for the events we are planning.
The problem is that I'm not aquainted with any of the local airsoft groups, so I'm in the dark as to what sort of land is used for gunfights, whether that be an open practice situation or a private pay-to-enter event.
Could anyone help with this? Any sites in particular you suggest? I'm DEFINITELY looking for indoor sites especially, but they seem a bit more rare.
The game is a sort of an "airsoft alternative" combat game, but it still involves shooting each other with plastic pellets. If you're curious for more info, PM me and we'll chat.
Otherwise, thanks for your time, and I look forward to meeting up with at some of these spots and seeing where people play/practice/fight.

In the events section, all the major fields post their events.

Airsoft events primarily take place on one of two types of property. The first is privately owned land with the permission of the land owner. Usually the land owner is a player or family member of a player. So, for example, GreyFox's dad owns 40 some-odd acres in Davison, and GreyFox hosts public games there about once a month.
The second type of field that you often see are just paintball fields who allow scheduled airsoft games. No Limits in Taylor and Hole in the Wall in Bangor are two examples of those sorts of fields. They don't have drop-in or open play like they do for paintball because airsoft just doesn't give them enough business to sustain open play. But certain teams work out scheduled events with the paintball field so they can get enough airsoft players all gathered together at the same time.
There really aren't any drop-in style fields. Everything is pre-scheduled and much of it is on private land. We can't use public parks because you just can't have people running around with replica guns where anybody who isn't a part of the game might see them. That's a recipe for a run in with police. It's also a recipe for some poor bystander to catch a stray bb in the eye.
