My team has thought about this idea many man times, and we have a few places that are quite large. They have an open site on either side of the woods to set up camp, and a open field inbetween the two sets of woods to go from camp to camp.
Our idea was to have regular rec games go on like a normal event til about 7. Stop, have dinner, set up camp, and then start the night scenario at around 9:30 or so.
The catch is, that we would play only til about 1-2 am. That way people would force themselves to stay awake and keep playing to get as much out of it as they can, knowing that there IS an end to the game, and they will get some sleep after that.
When morning comes, we start at like 10 or 11 and play til late sunday afternoon or til about 5 or 6. Whatever everybody wants to do.
We would only ask $20, and that would help with gas in the generators to power batteries at every break in the game during the day, and at night for a couple hours til we go to bed.
I am very interested in doing this, and I think that it would be a very fun concept to do.Especially if we get like 80+ to play it. People could be attacking pretty much the whole time. We could be around the fire eating smores, and people sneak past the sentries and kill us all. It'd make us stay in our loadout til we went to bed like the real deal.
If interested, get ahold of me at voiceoftheseed@yahoo.com or PM me on here.

Remember some of the most important things when hosting an event: 1. Insurance - Seeing as you will have a "higher stress" (lulz) event youre definitely going to want to make sure you have some insurance. Not only for your property, but in the event that someone has a heat stroke or trips over their own feet and gets injured. This happens, and you want your behind to be covered. Thats one portion of the Registration Fee. 2. Food/Beverages - If you're going to have people play at an event for 24 hours, you better have some food. Whether you want to use the Registration Fee to purchase the food to provide for everyone, or set up a booth where they can buy it, is purely up to you. But food and more importantly water is a MUST. 3. Terrain/Environment - You're going to want to have Buildings, Barricades, and Obstacles to made the field exciting to play on. Anyone one of us can run through the woods and shoot at eachother, but a field with unique forts and objectives is sure to attact more players and keep the spirit alive. This is going to require an invesment on your part to purchase all the supplies to build this, but again, your Registration Fee may be able to cover some of the original cost. Dont expect to walk away with ANY profit from an event. In fact, if you're planning on making a profit, you're hosting for the wrong reason. These are just some of the key points of hosting an event and there is by far much more planning that goes into it. Im going to suggest you get in contact with some people who have hosted multiple OP's, such as SFOD and the MTAC hosts. Best of luck to you. Oh yea, a quick note. Its "Blood, Blood, Blood makes the green grass grow!"

I am quoting from the michigan renaissance festival, where they would scream "Blood makes the grass grow". So if there is another version militarily or of some other context, I wasn't aware.
Not that it'll change what I say, but your point is noted.
thank you for your info

I never heard that are the renaissance festival.. So I'd have no idea.. But.. seeing as we're on an Airsoft forum, and most airsofters are interested in the Military Persona... I figured it was from that battlecry.
Alas. Dont want to highjack this thread.

That's a freakin sweet battlecry, and I would totally change mine to that, but mine is quicker to say first of all, and second, I already got it on my helmet. hehe. anyways, thanks for the info.

For anyone contemplating a 24 hour or multiple day game, I highly suggest you try to find some info about what is likely the best airsoft event in the history of airsoft: Berget. It is a 6-day event that is only what I could describe as real-sim. It goes beyond Mil-sim. They have people from all over Europe that come to this game, so you have Russian units, German units, Swedish units, etc (They all have to have someone who can speak English for communicating with other units). You have role players that are literally playing a part (civilians, terrorists, etc).
Not to mention, it's usually a 6-day event. Where they camp out in field and have to bring their provisions with them. Oh, and combat can go through your campsite/TOC at any time.

I would be in, me and my friend do a lot of practice for this at night, we will sit out side at 3am with our snipers, set up bottles for each other, so we don't know where they are, identify, and fire at them. So i am use to this stuff. I would do this happily, hell i would do an all night guard for a camp.

OCA has a field that would work quite well for a overnight game. We have been talking about doing a afternoon rec game and a short night game. Then start up again in the morning.
Plus, our field has a number of small open fields perfect for camping on.

Why not just play an ALL night game of Spies vs. Mercenaries?

If people wanted to play all night it would fine with us.
The weekend of the 15th and 16th should have a 3/4 full waining moon so having enough light shouldn't be a problem.

I would be down for a night game. I've heard it's an whole new experience in the dark.

It is, we have done it at our field and it is totaly different.
Usually slower but when the fire starts it is totaly cool, makes moving much easier other than obstacles and tripping.

May want to limit the Night time FPS to 350. People loose depth preception at night; it would totally suck getting hit by a hot rifle from 25 feet away. Just a suggestion.

The idea of the Berget event is a great thing to try to replicate, unfortunately Berget itself often doesn't work too well. In previous years they actually had fist fights break out between teams, which is pretty fucking crazy for airsoft if you ask me. I think somebody also died one year (fell off a building or something like that)...
