Converting an AEG to Semi-Auto Only

Since I keep getting questions on this, I figure I'd post this and get it moved to the quick fix section.

Remove this part of the selector switch and it will be semi auto only. It's seriously that simple. This will work on any version AEG, just remove the part across from the nub which holds the spring.

Does this work for V2 boxes only? Or will pretty much any selector plate look like that and can be modified in the same way for the same effect? It's been years since I've been inside anything but a V2, so my memory is spotty.
