Hey guys just throwing some stuff out there. Team elephant would like to host a MIL-SIM on shadows property sometime in mid to late June or late July. Just a planning stage nothing is set yet but we would appreciate any feed back we can get on who would like to attend and what types of games to play. This would be my first attempt at hosting an event so help would be greatly appreciated -thatoneguy

Ok, if you're going to host MILSIM you need a backstory and multiple plots. Real war is never as simple as "capture one checkpoint, win game". It's full of deceit, treachery, and ambushes. You need to make a story and force people to stick to it.

I'll say... no, not interested.
You need to figure out how to host an event before you try to hold something MILSIM. We don't even have a clue who you are.

For those who want to host events like this one proposed I have a suggestion for you to help you successfully run one of these things. You can listen to me and take my advice or not but I can almost guarantee if you don't follow these things I'm about to say you will always encounter resistance.
First step is to establish a good name for yourself on the forums. Second, establish a good name for yourself on the field so go to as many games as you can (even some on the west side) so that people will get to know you. If you are part of a team then your team (as a whole) has to follow the same rules. (Ask yourself do people know who you are outside your team? Do people other than your team know that your team exists? If the answer is no then that's a bad thing). Another step is don't be 15. Sorry to say this but a 15 year old will not be able to run an event and command authority from a bunch of third graders let alone a bunch of grown men. Also you need to have experience before you start wanting to run a major MIL sim event. Actually you should know what MIL sim is before you say you want to host a MIL sim game. Start with rec games and establish your field.
There's more to go so when I think of it I will come back and edit this or other members can chime in.
In order for you to get any kind of positive reception for something like this it will take time and lots of it so be patient.

If anyone is interested, I'm back on the forum world and am willing to host or allow usage of this property by others again. We've had some more successful games over the past year and I feel like we've really something to offer. I have written permission to use the land to the South of the runway expanding the playable region to 67.5 acres. Mostly wooded with open fields and several "log bunkers'. Digging and land modification is permitted as long as everything is put back. The facilities will include restrooms, water, storage space, and electricity free for use. Please let me know if you would like to play.
