So as opposed to those who should be outright banned, I propose a list of those individuals who don't show up without notifying the game host, and at the discretion of each host, choose whether or not to allow those individuals to attend their games. This is much like the Hellfish's list, but will pertain to all events.
One of the major thing that causes these events to flop is the failure of people to show. The event hosts are then kinda SOL when the teams are severely lopsided or only half the people who said they were attending show up. This is especially true when there is some type of food provided or props which every individual is given whom attends (these things cost money y'know).
Let me know your thoughts...

I'm for it. Not showing to an event is one thing, not letting the host know beforehand that you won't be there is another.

This I approve of. It is simply common courtesy to let someone know you are going to cancel on them. If you repeated fail to do so, baring a tragic inability to report your absence, then by all means I believe an event host should be able to "write you off" and not waste their time or money on such an individual.

At least a list to give warning to hosts. I've been to plenty of events ruined by no-shows, and hosted a few with my team. I would support this.

Depends on the seriousness of the event - there are certain games where it doesn't matter who shows up like most of the SFOD games, but milsim events and whatnot should be able to count on a majority of people showing up, especially for balance purposes.

I doubt very much Tex is talking about simple REC games here. You typically don't buy props and food for attendees of those.

However there is a simple solution for these types of major events. Pre-pay only. No walk-ons. Simple as that.

I love this idea, I propose a 48 hour advance notice as well. If you don't plan on showing up, let us (or other hosts) know 48 hour in advance.

I would propose a list such as this, but I would allow for exceptions such as family or medical emergencies if a person cancels at the last minute. All in all, it sounds like a good idea to have a separate list from the ban list.

I say just make people PrePay for fancy events like this...
What more needs to be done then seperating someone from their cash? Repeat offenders just fill our wallets whilst allowing us to not provide them sevices.

Repeat offenders just fill our wallets whilst allowing us to not provide them sevices. Yeah.. I agree with this, and that's how we do it here. Guys airsoft is a big part of my life, but it's not the most important thing. Stuff comes up... We've had highways flood so bad players couldn't show up. Cars have dead batteries, family emergency's... very recently... I just don't think a list is needed. Take their money if they don't show up for a big event, don't give refunds. But making a list is kinda a lot of work to monitor, update, etc.

I think this list has even less of a chance of happening as the banned list, it's just not realistic and the excuses/bs will fly.
If an event host wants to post in the AAR who didn't show up that is fine but I just don't see a list happening.

What's with all the proposed lists recently? My wife always needs help with her grocery list if someone is really into making lists. ;D

I'm just going to make this list official. If game hosts have any genuine no shows with no call in advance shoot me a PM and we'll add them to the list.
