My buddy Founded/Owns the United Airsoft League here in the U.S., and we will be having a "Friendly" competition down here in FL in April at Cecil Air Base. If you would like to fly down to get a taste of what it's like alphaairsoft, let me know and I should be able to get you the information for it. It is a "Veteran" team invite-only and the CQB competition part of it will be run in teams of 4. A good way to run those type of competitions is "Invite Only", and keep money out of it. In the UAL competitions all there is in terms of prizes is a big-ass trophy and bragging rights until the next competition. It keeps all the riff-raff out of the competition by not involving any tangible prizes (At least IMO) and guarantees that no hot-heads are playing/competing since it is a compilation of teams/players that get along with each other. I wish more people would get those type of competitions going. Even like the pistol ones that Troubadour was talking about. I for one would DEFINITELY get into that if we all got together and had weekly or bi-weekly competitions.

I will concede that non- force on force competition can work. If you wanted to have teams go through a shooting course, that would probably work. Something like a shoot house they have to clear, fastest team wins. That really is the only kind of competition I can see working well. It takes most of the human element out, because if you can't shoot and you move slow, you won't win and there's really no way to cheat.
I believe it was the Dirty Dozen that used to run games like that. From what I recall, they were supposed to have been pretty good.

That's pretty much what we do Thor. Then within the MOUT area there are judges that "Grade" you based on realworld tactics. For example, if you sweep a room with your weapon and muzzle a teammate, you get 1 "Point" marked off your score. Your time is clocked, and your "Points" are factored in and the team with the lowest time/point count wins. Very simple, Very fair, and Very fun!
