Op. Gridlock
By team C.O.G
Hi, I thought I would throw this up here and get some feedback on what we are planning for this summer at CQBR's property in Caseville.
Like stated, CQBR is letting us host an event at his property in Caseville, up in the thumb. Here is a Google map picture of his property (yellow shade area).
It consists of 40 acres and is a mix a dense and open forest area.
Now for the more interesting things!
Date: some time in summer.
Duration: all day, with over night camping. (possible night game?)
Objectives: Take control over key areas in the field, point awarded at the end of every hour to the team controlling the the point. As well as rolling objectives to add to the game and have better objectives then take and hold this point. (Downed pilot, search and destroy SAM's etc...)
Teams: We are thinking a player cap of 54, divided into two 27 teams. The teams will consist of a commander (hopefully a senior member of MIA), 1 sniper-spotter team, and four 6 man squads.
Teams camo: Woodland BDU vs. 3/6 color desert. (strict)
Squad regulations: Each squad will have to have the following;
Squad leader
Medic
Radio operator
Optional Support gunner (one and only one)
Optional DMR (one and only one, no bolt action rifle)
Commander can use any gun and is the only one to move about by himself and will have to keep his team informed of new objectives.
The sniper-spotter team must consist of a sniper with a bolt action rifle and a spotter with an AEG. We are playing with the idea of being able to drop the sniper spotter team for two body guards for the commander.
Age: 18+ with no exceptions (the younger players on my team will be helping refereeing to learn and observe.)
Field will have running water, power outlets, crono, and Porto-john.
Fast food restaurants are close in town with a few minutes drive.
Standard MIA fps regulations and Full seal goggles required.
No hi-caps, only dedicated support guns etc...
As for other rules; we are still working out a good medic system, I know for sure that you will only get one heal, and then its back to re-spawn. (Might give each medic a role of tape that needs to be tied around the persons arm).
Re-spawns will only happen at squad level, you will spawn once your whole squad has returned to the spawn. This will stop people from running around by themselves being super soldiers. (although I worry that it might be to long of a wait)
For objectives that need to be destroyed, we will be attaching a smoke grenade to the prop and you will have to light the grenade to signal that it is destroyed and then radio in that it was finished. (we will have mod's around to make sure that it was actually finished).
That's it for now, if I left anything out I will edit it in, so let me get some feedback on this. I hope that we can turn out a decent event out of this. Also I've started looking into insurance, but as of now we will not be charging anything, as its already a good drive for most of you in the state and I think its a good incentive to come. And here's hoping the gas prices stay low.
