I would be more then willing to prepay a week in advance... but deep snow is on the sixth and I just won't have the money yet. If every one has to prepay I hate to say it but I would more than likely have to sit this one out. Now I'm hoping that prepay is a request and not required so that I can go and add one more to the roster, but thats not up to me.

The only thing required is a $400.00 deposit due by the 6th, which is two weeks before the game. That will secure the field for a 6 hour game on Saturday the 20th.

Go ahead and throw me onto the list for being able to prepay.

Fuck, I'll send payment as soon as I get a place to send it. Chaseman, your email? Post up and we can get some cash and hold this place.
I'm not on call and don't want to miss it, so... count my fat ass in.

I think I could scrape together some money and prepay.

I can prepay for sure.
But like everything with airsoft, people saying they'll pre-pay is different from people actually putting that check in the mail. I hate to say it, but we're a pretty lathargic group when it comes to following through on our commitments. Allen (Skypilot) and I were just talking about holding all of the money until you get the requisite $400. That would allow you to refund those who did pay if we don't get the target number in time. It shouldn't be that hard, but I have my doubts.
Sky had to run, so I didn't get to suggest this, but here's what I would do about gameplay. You don't have enough time to draw up a really bitching story line to fit the field, which is a shame, but that's why there's a next time. For this game, I would come up with a very simple two team scenario with only one or two objectives for each team that will keep the action moving without confusing anybody. And on top of that, at least one of the objectives for each team should be continuous with no way to really end. So you get something simple like Team 1 has to capture and hold point A and B, and retrieve package C and hold it at either location. That way, play doesn't stop when Team 1 has captured the package. They have to hold their locations for the rest of the day, and ideally, they'll lose it once or twice. The same thing could be done with Team 2. Team 2 has to hold points D and E, and capture and hold package F.
It's simple, so everybody knows what their job is, and it'll give you continuous game play. This is a first run, so it doesn't have to wow us. It just has to give us something to do while we explore the new field.

Yeah, but with the way things happen, you'd probably get prolific amounts of camping going on if say, Team 1 captures objective C, but Team 2 captures objectives A & B, and then everyone bogs down. In all honesty, the simplest objectives I could think of would be:
Team 1: -Eliminate Team 2 Players -Secure "bomb" and transport to Team 2's base. Detonate inside the base to win round. Team 2: -Eliminate Team 1 Players -Secure "bomb" and transport to Team 1's base. Detonate inside the base to win round.
It makes it so that eliminating tango's is part of your objective, but advancing the bomb wins. Something like a cheap air horn or an electronic siren (obviously man-portable) would work for the bomb. That way, instead of just running in and saying we win, he has to stop shooting his foes to trigger the bomb. If he is shot before he can detonate it, then he drops the bomb where he is shot, and gameplay continues.

That would be great Knief if you and Skypilot hold the cash everybody out here knows you guys. As far as the game simply is best. We have a bomb from one of our games too at the PCA field. with the great props out at this field we have to incorporate the Beech craft twin engine plane and the helo in what ever we do.

No walk on's seems a little harsh. Plus aren't we trying to get a large group to go and show we have a base for their business? How about charge an extra few bucks for walk-ons and use it to buy pizza for everybody, provide BB's, hold a 50/50 raffle or something...

Why should you get to walk on when I've put the money down to help reserve the field in the first place? No walk ons is practically necessary to get enough people to pre-pay, otherwise everybody is going to wait for 20 other dudes to do it, and meanwhile, Chase and Sky will be stick holding each other's dicks and not the $400 reservation fee. This also makes it harder for people to drop out because it's a little chilly or snowing, and then I show up to see 5 people with dead batteries and get pissed.
Relish, I don't really think that camping would be an issue. If one team has two bases held, the other team could send everybody it has to assault one of those points and take it pretty easily. But hey, it's not up to either of us, so we'll what they decide to do. Mostly, I just want to make sure that they go as simple as possible. Skypilot can write up some pretty elegant scenarios and they'll be great to run here. But we need to run a simple game first to see how the field plays for us.
Chaseman, I'd love to help out, but school is just killing me. I can't really make a commitment to doing much for you. I think you've been around long enough that we know you're not about to take your money and run. Besides, with PCA and all of the people you've dealt with, you're pretty track-down-able if you decide to steal the loot. We'll come en masse with torches and pickforks, and you know that would suck.

You'd have to prepay to reserve the field normally for paintball use, makes sense that they'd want airsofters to reserve as well.

I guess I can see that Knief. 3 objectives makes it much easier to empower one team to go fight the other team.
Edit: you could run a game similar to the way the old SEMIA monthlies at Futureball were run, the two I went to were some of the best airsoft I've played in Michigan.

Let me know where to pay. Also you must be careful out there Chase, we don't want you breaking a hip on the ice.
