Alright guys, here are some rules and regulations for the recruitment forum here. - Thread jacking is not tolerated, do not post in another persons or teams recruitment thread to steal members away.
- Please use proper grammar and spelling. It's not hard. Don't make me lock your thread because "u feel u need 2 use 1337 speak..." Also see the MIA forum rules.
- Do not make simple posts looking for members but not list where you are or where you are from. These posts are pointless and will be edited or locked.
- Unsafe behavior or conduct will result in locking, deletion, warnings, or bans in accordance with MiA regulation.
- Only bump recruitment threads if they have fallen off the front page or you have significant new information to impart.
- Common sense.
- More common sense.
These rules are not hard to follow nor difficult to understand. I don't want to seem like a forum Nazi, but these rules will be adhered to. - CantoXII UPDATE 6/22/2010 Bashing on any member's team in the recruitment section will result in an immediate 3 day ban + 25% warning level increase, regardless of current warning levels. This shouldn't need to be said - if someone wants to pretend they are E-LIGHT SEALZorZ then that's their prerogative. Who are we to judge? - Talisman

Epic,
I hate to say it, but I've got to disable your account. Proboards Terms of Service dictates that you must be 13 years old or older to have an account here. It's not our rule, but if we allow 12 year olds access, we could lose the boards. Sorry man. Feel free to come back as soon as you turn 13, though.

I understand these rules, and I am sorry for my caused annoyance. However, on my recruitment thread, some long time members of MiA bashed my team, saying it was "a joke", which could have made it seem like a stupid, amateur, and childish team. Did those individuals get a short ban that this stickie mentioned? Why should long time members not get punished? Either way, thanks for directing me to this. I will post another thread soon. Thanks!

They didn't say that your team was a joke as an insult. Your post was so out there, so stereotypically immature, that they couldn't tell if you were joking (trolling, as the case may be) or not. I'm still not sure that you weren't. No, they didn't and will not receive bans. It's not because they're long time members, it's because their response was the only reasonable response to your thread.

Look, we are not out to sound like jerks on rules. We only have them to make this forum a lot better. But other members that have been on here for this long know what to expect out of this forum's members and your post did seem a little odd given how most airsofters in Michigan play. It is hard to know if someone is joking or not over text as we cannot hear how you portray your words.

Read this:
"This shouldn't need to be said - if someone wants to pretend they are E-LIGHT SEALZorZ then that's their prerogative. Who are we to judge?"
I'm not trying to be an elite seal, but that doesn't matter. I want you guys to read "WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE?!?

I'm going to end my conversation and agreeing with Knief on this. There was nothing said OF your team, just about the post itself. Hope this helps!

I think you're still taking away the wrong meaning. They weren't judging the way that you play. They thought you were making a joke, and that that's not actually the way that you play.

Thats how I play! I play with beginner guns, in my backyard! I understand what you are saying. My post seems so amateur, opposed to the more "hardcore" airsoft players, so it appeared to be a "Joke" or "Troll". But really, i'm just trying to find more players with my play style. I asked in my thread, "If you are interested in joining, E-mail me!" If you were not interested, why did you guys comment?

The reason it says I am 43 is because I wanted my dad to make the account because I thought you had to be 18 to make one, but I read the rules and it says you have to be 13, my age. I am being honest though, I want to see if any other people my age (Or close to it) want to play airsoft with my friends and I. No hard feelings guys. I play with safety though, on my own property (Or friends), protect myself with a mask, and never bring my stuff out in public. I AM safe with my airsoft guns, and don't mean to add to any negative stereotypes. I'm sorry to stir up trouble.

Its not the fact that your stirring up trouble, airsoft just isn't meant for playing in backyards with your friends necessarily. You might start out that way at the very beginning (like how I did before I got semi serious into the sport), but it's not meant for everyday play. I would suggest saving up some money and buying a decent AEG (if you dont know what that is then look on the forum), and start going to some ops on here or rec games in general before posting about "starting a team" to "play airsoft in your backyard." If you want to start a team, great! Just not for backyard airsoft fights, it's pointless and you have a higher chance of something bad happening.

Ok thanks. I am planning on buying a JG MK36, but not until my current gun brakes. But when I get a good gun, I plan to go to this one airsoft group that my older step-brother goes to called NASA, which is located within walking distance of my house (Probably won't walk though).

It's OK to use sticky threads to ask questions about the subject of the sticky. It's not OK to use them instead of the report function or to drift them. Further discussion of anything other than the rules and regulations for recruitment in this thread will result in warnings.
