Today I went to my friend Marty's house, he lives out in the boonies. His family (his dad, brother, and him) hunts all time, and have many firearms. Their property is also perfect for Airsoft...tree forts, 4 busted up cars, a car-width path throughout a part their 25 acres, very little swampy areas...ooh.....*drools* It was awesome, I got there at 11:30, his UHC Glock 17 is broken, so I lent him my USP. Unfortunately, I only have .25 bbs so the USP shoots at most 15 feet....d'oh! We didn't really care, so we head out in the woods to the the "Fun Place" as we call it: a car-width path goes through the woods, players start at opposite ends of the path, the junkers are on the sides of the path, trees aren't very wide. Unfortunately for us, it's hunting season! D'oh@Newman! Marty's dad comes running after us right when we're starting, telling us to stick closer to the house. I'm glad he did that, because right when I was walking back towards the house I saw two hunters about 50 yards behind me! I was in camo so I'm glad we got out of there. We found a place behind his house where there's a 2 story treefort inside the woods, so one person started at the tree line and another in/on/around the fort. After five games we determined that this was a waste of time, since my MP5 shot about 8 times farther (and powerful). Oh wells...after that we went and shot two of his guns. The first was Marty's .22 lever-action repeating rifle (if you've ever seen an old western movie, the rifles that they use where you cock the gun with the hand guard is this kind). You could pump out 2-4 shots per second with this .22, it was hella-fun, plus it was accurate. The next gun...oooh...Viking...we shot a Beretta 92FS with rubber grips, yours is almost exactly like it!! 9mm...holy crap it's loud. I'd shot only .22 and .357 magnum before (huge difference there ) and 9mm was in-between for the decibel level (IMO). Now I've only shot pistols a couple times, so you can determine whatever you wish about this: They had an about 2 inch diameter orange circle at about 30-50 yards away (I can't tell distances very well ;D) and I fricking nailed it! With a pistol(!) I hit this 2 inch diameter circle...holy crap. I don't like to brag ( ), but Retraw, isn't that really good? I'm almost sure it's beginner's luck...but that's really pushing it. I dunno...it was awesome. So there's my story about today...laf.

Sounds like some decent shooting Newman! Sights & control are where it's at with handguns (at least .38 & above depending on you eyesight & wrist of course).
Loud eh? Assuming you were wearing ear protection (what...huh....what did you say?). If not, ear plugs are cheap, make sure you use some. It's in your best interest.
I myself spent the day scouting skirmishing sites. Now I just have to figure out who owns some of them. Man, hunters out everywhere, not healthy to be in the woods right now! I stayed in the Jeep and just waved at 'em.

Yep, I used ear protection, I'd never shoot w/o some kind of sound dampering device.

Although I haven't shot a 9mm, a friend of mine shot a 92FS and he said that it was awsome. (Thanks a lot, now I'm even more jelous!) I have seen a few hand guns and some AR-15's, and I must say, even some springers look a LOT like their real-steel counterparts. At 20 feet I couldn't distinguish a TM G17 springer and the real thing.
By the way, the Beratta's 5" steel barrel makes it one of the most accurate pistols. I just felt like bursting you bubble of self-esteem.

;D Hehehe....there was none, Ed. I'm kinda in disbelief, since I didn't think I'd even hit close to it. I never really thought much of it until I posted, oh wells...
The .22 pistols I shot (Ruger revolver and semi automatic) were as accurate or more than the Beretta, IMO. The .357 magnum, on the other hand, was just a big fricking biznitch that you kill Incredible Hulk-sized tangos with.

Newman, eegads lad...nice shot While I haven't had the chance to actually fire any real weapons yet I have held plenty. At the last Gun and Knife show I was able to hold a very sexy Steyr AUG Mil, aah I still get tingles thinking about it. That gun is just perfect. Now its time for a "Back in my days" story. Ok..here goes: Back when I was a young lad of Newman's age living in Slovakia I lived in a wee tiny village about 15km away from the Big City. Every summer the soldiers stationed in the city would hike for days through the surrounding woods and would come to rest at our local school. I'm not sure how many there were, but I'm guessing within the 200-300 range, so the entire school property was full of Slovak soldiers in all their gear carrying AK-47's. Like a curious little weirdo I rode my grandma's red girly bike around the soldiers checking out the weaponry , drooling away. All of a sudden a group of soldiers came up to me and asked if I had any eggs. Which of course sounded so damn strange it boggled my mind and I froze for a split second before I answered " No, but my grandma does!" They got all excited and told me their story of hiking for days without much food and begged me to go back to my house to bring them some eggs. I was about to make up a story saying I live too far away but as soon as one of the soldiers said he'd let me hold his AK...my EYES LIT UP and I zoomed off towards home as FAST as I could go. I swear, I've never gone faster on that old crappy bike. I was even going up hills without stopping. I ran into the house, grabbed some eggs and stuffed them down my jacket pocket and ran back out without even saying a word to my card playing grandparents. Back at the school we made the trade and the soldiers took me back into the woods so that thier superiors would'nt see them and while they ate RAW eggs (good lord man) I got to hold a beautiful AK-47. It was a lot lighter than I thought It would be, but thats only because the magazine was empty. Still it felt so good to hold and aim at things. I'll never forget it. the end Back when I was even younger my dad would let me hold his CZ-75 and Skorpion when he came home from work. Aaah the good old days. hehe

Holy crap man, your dad owned a Skorpion! You have one of those in the good ol' US of A and you're going to jail for a 'couple' days! ;D I have a memory also, unfortunately not as cool as holding a soldier's AK ;D My friend's dad works at the Washtenaw Sheriffs Department and has clearance to the entire place (including the armory). He knows that I'm interested in guns and all, so he takes me down to the armory and shows me: SWAT ballistic shields, helmets, batons, other police crap, then he shooes me over to the small gun rack. On it are three M4s (he didn't even know what they were, I had to tell him ;D, he's former SWAT but doesn't keep up with guns now). My jaw dropped after seeing their awesomeness ;D, he noticed, so he picked it off the rack and put it in my 13 year-old hands (this was 2 years ago). Oooh...real steel M4 w/ tactical forarm flashlight goodness....it was pretty light feeling, too. After putting it back on the shelf, he showed me a rack on the ground that was holding old AR-15s, Benelli shotguns, and the oooh nice Robar sniping rifles. He told me that he used the AR-15s in the "good ol' days" of when he was in SWAT, and handed me one of them. Holy crap! It was like one big piece of steel, it must've been 15 pounds! I was a lot weaker back then, so it was probably less, but still it was freaking heavy! He picked up the Robar rifle and showed it to me, but didn't want to hand it to me and have me drop it because of its weight. It was still cool, though. Next, he showed me the explosives room! A blast vent is on the top of the room so that if an explosion occurs, everything travels upward. Scary...very scary... Ever scarier was that he picked up a chunk (1 pound!) of C4 and handed it to me! Once it was in my hands he told me what it was, I was scared to death! ;D Then I realized that C4 can only be actuated (read: exploded) by an electrical-type charge being put into it. He also then said that it was from his SWAT days and probably wouldn't even explode if they wanted it to. Phew... CS gas and flashbangs littered the room, it was pretty dern cool! So there's my sweet story guys.

Bah, I've got you all beat: Black stock Steyr AUG with night vision scope ;D. Also got to shoot an olive drab AUG with the standard scope. Don't hate me for having an uncle who makes night vision equipment for the government and is also a gun nut 8)
I also got to shoot his HK USP, some SKS/AK with a thumbhole stock, and a couple revolvers, not sure exactly what though. Both AUGs were his too BTW. I barely scratched the surface of his collection, hell, he has a freaking used bank vault door that he uses to lock up his goodies! Hmmm, maybe I should give him a call and see if I can come visit again?

Hehe@Perfectglock, that was just mean. I was reading down your list seeing G18, TMP and thinking what a lucky sonofa.. I'm not sure if you guys have seen these videos yet, but aah well I'll post the link anyway. Head on over to Airsoft Extreme to see Bruiser and Thumper fire some very sweet and very REAL guns. (videos are small, most under 2MB so us 56k snails can enjoy too) I want a TMP!
