Acutally Hadoken, I didn't ask him, but i'm guessing he knows which battery would suit me best in my situation. But when I asked him about what he recommended he said an 8.4v 1300mah. I hope that will suffice.

Actually that should do fine. I was just worried it would be a regular mini (8.4V 600mah) Phew!, Eddie rocks!

Yea, Eddie is really cool. He helps you out with anything and he puts the customer first, which i think is totally awsome becuase not many companies will do that, they just want yer mula and then they never talk to u again.

Wow that was fast, from Minis to AEGs in 2 days.... No offense, but I think you should have taken a little more time to learn as much about airsoft as you could before comitting to a major purchase like that. Ah well, if you've got the cash to burn there's nothing I can do about it. Hope you love the gun, and will be able to join us at some skirmishes in the future!
I don't know about that upgrade though.....hope your gun lasts with whatever they stuck in their for $25 bucks, most likely just a spring and hopefully some bushings. Battery life and overall mechbox durability might be an issue....

I really think you have no clue how much I have learned about airsoft in a couple days. My question about minis was very basic, simply if they were any good or cheap pieces of junk.
I have done many searches and looked up information on the shop where I got the gun, the tyes of guns to get (m4 vs mp5, AE vs. TM, start with gbb vs AEG). The shop that I got it from has had many praises that I have seen.
If me being anxious to get into airsoft has somehow offended you, then I guess I am sorry. I am not a child, much less your child and I would appreciate you allowing me to make my own financial decisions. Sorry if I sound like a prick, but you didnt sound as if trying to provide information, but rather as if you wanted to take the "you shouldnt have done that" approach.
No offense.

Whoa, stan, settle down a little. Mink was just trying to give some simple input. Any way, what did you end up going for, the TM or AE? About the upgrade though, 400 fps? holy cow! thats crazy, (don't get mad at me) but i don't think that many ppl will wanna play with that, its extremely painful. But whatever, its I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. call. HAve fun with it!

Another SD6? Eegads man, what's that now? 6 of em here in our group? Michigan must be some sort of SD6 magnet! Nice choice by the way, I'm very pleased with mine. Though I too am concerned about the 400fps upgrade. As Minky pointed out that additional $25 towards the upgrade probably wasn't all that much part wise. Probably a spring and some metal bushings, so I'm just worried things "may" go wrong a lot sooner. Hopefully they'll be giving you a battery that can handle such an upgrade too. Sure a regular mini battery will power it, but not for a long time, and the rate of fire will be a LOT slower. If you ordered from Airsoftshop though I'm positive Eddie will take care of that issue. *crossing fingers* Another concern is the actual 400fps upgrade. My SD6 is upgraded to 350fps and many of the guys from Operation: Arctic Freeze can tell you it stings like a mofo! With your 400fps there is absolutely no way I will be letting you use that for CQB and even out doors limits will be set. Aah well, I know you'll be happy with your purchase. It's too late for me to say this now since you've already ordered it. But my opinion is that you should have bought a stock gun and then later upgrade it yourself. You'd learn how the internals work and you'd have MUCH more appreciation for the extra power and range the upgrade provides.

Yowza, back the funbus up a second there! I never accused you of being a child or criticized where you chose to spend your money, so I have no clue where all your hostility towards me is coming from! I can totally understand being excited about your first big airsoft purchase, but I also know how excitement can cloud judgement. All I was trying to point out was the fact that going with the 400 FPS upgrade straight out of the gate may not have been the best idea. If you really have learned as much in 2 days as you claim, you should have known that acheiving that much of an FPS increase properly should cost much more than $25. When you get a spring powerfull enough to crank that kind of speed, there are other things that should be upgraded as well, unless you like the thought of your gears stripping, mechbox cracking, or any number of other equipment failures. Maybe you'll be lucky and the gun will last for 10,000 rounds with no problems; then again you might fire one magazine through it and strip all your gears. Since you're just getting started, I was taking a "shouldn't have done that" approach, since I wouldn't want your first gun to have a much higher risk of problems than it would if left stock....

Good choice then, that place rocks. I bought my spp from there, and with shipping, it was only $186. They deliver pretty fast too. Stanfosd, if you come to one of our games, I gotta check out your gun and how good the upgrade is. I was thinking of getting one of those upgrades for my next gun.

Ok, sorry for being a little uptight guys.
You are right about getting a stock gun and upgrading later, but I saw a good deal on the upgrades and have heard good things about it, so opted for it.
I am surprised that these would be so painful at 400fps, but that IS where my lack of knowledge is really going to hurt me. I have played paintball at over 400fps and while it was painful, it wast terrible.
Again, I apologize for getting defensive.

stanfosd,
I have an idea how much you have learned in two days. Not much. Sorry if this offends you, but it is true. It's just not possible to learn what you need to learn in two days.
And I agree with Minky 100%, you should have waited a bit before rushing into a purchase. Your 400fps upgrade will drain your mini battery in about one mag. Hope you shoot conservatively. Many organizations have a limit of 400fps for full auto (including mine), there is usually a +/- 15 fps variance on upgrades. So your gun could come in at anywhere from 385fps to 415fps, since you have a short barreled AEG, you will probably come in a little under 400fps, but if not, you may be limited to semi auto only in a lot of organized games. Best case, you will be limited by a minimum engagement limit of around 50 feet. So better buy a side arm or plan to surrender if someone manages to get close to you.
Another concern, with that high of FPS, that will put considerable strain on your mechbox. So you can definately expect a shorter lifespan, how much, is debatable.

Thanks for the apology, and like I said in my first post, I hope you love the gun and will join at us at a skirmish someday soon. As far as the 400 FPS pain factor, I think it's more an issue of safety than pain. Most airsoft players tend to not wear any type of full facial protection, possibly a balaclava. When you have a weapon that can shoot full auto at 400FPS, at close range it can do a lot of damage to skin, teeth, etc. Having never played paintball, I can't give a comparison to the pain from upgraded guns, but I'm sure some of the other guys here who play, or used to play, paintball can offer some insight.
