I don't like the waiver idea because I was planning to go to these battles when I get my license and not tell me parents but that probably isn't the best idea now that I think about it.

I didn't want to make a whole new thread about goggles, but a reminder why you would where a good full fledged mask instead of cheap safety glasses or nothing at all. Just looking at it makes me cringe . www.grpwrct.com/images/Airsoft/closerange.jpg

Guys, I am 100% sure of this. Search the Airsoft Players forums (www.airsoftplayers.com)and you will find that a group of "powerball" Airsofters gave that picture to Pikachoad of Airsoft Players. Powerball is Airsoft, except that you don't call out until you've had enough pain. Probably as dumb as shooting yourself repeatedly with a pellet gun. Makes me wonder why some law makers hate Airsoft...

Yeah Newman I've heard of that except they called it "Hard Ball". Copenhagen SWAT (The infamous airsoft team) plays it.

All sorts of really fun issues in this thread, hmm, where to start?
You're going to play on state land eh? How big a skirmish you planning on? We just got shot down for use of state forest land for ONB. Did you call anyone at the DNR and ask for permission to use the area for an "event"? Don't tell me you don't need to, I can assure you that you do. I've been part of cross-country ski and mtn bike races on state land and the DNR does NOT take kindly to gatherings of folks without notice. Paintball prevented our use of the area...the DNR is tired of the trash they leave behind. Unless you intend to pick up your BB's, or unless you're in a very remote location and get lucky, they can fine you for littering (that's what we were threatened with). Ignorance of the law does not mean it does not pertain to you.
Waivers are a necessity due to attorneys and lawsuits. Oh that's right, let me guess, "that'll never happen".....rrrrright. How many waivers have your parents signed for you to go do things? They are the one that will take the fall if someone decides to sue you. Man will that be a surprise for the parents of those of you who decide not to tell them where you're going!
Pikachoad was provided that pic huh? Gee, would that be the previous owner of a gun that runs at 420fps with .43g BB's? Can't imagine why he was provided the pic......
I've said it before and I'll continue to say it. We are a reflection of airsoft in MI. What you post here, others read, not just the crew here. Ever wonder how many folks have been put off by what they read on this forum?
Nuff said....the old guy will shut up now.

I think either you misread my statement or I'm misreading yours, Mr. Jackstraw, but here's how I understand it:
Pikachoad was sent that picture of people playing powerball. He did not make the picture or have anything to do with it, he just received it. I don't know why he was provided with the picture, because I'm not him nor the maker/sender of the picture.
And Jackstraw, you have brought this up before:
Actually, no. I haven't heard or read anything to make me even bother to think about that. Blorfo's comments on the "rules" section awhile ago ignited controversy, but as far as I can tell, that was dealt with quickly and professionally by Hadoken. I just can't see how anyone not interested in Airsoft would be reading up on the forums of Michigan Airsoft, but that's just me. You have obviously had more life experiences than me, because of your age compared to mine, and you are probably right that somewhere down the line comments of members of MiA have offended...someone...but I don't think that we've done anything "special" to put people off, in fact, this is probably the only forum in the world that I have seen where people make public and private apologies and genuinely mean it. I know, because I messed up with the "tennies" comment awhile back, and know how it feels to be misunderstood. With that last comment, I hope that Michigan Airsoft continues to show an air of "maturity" in the posts, compared to other Airsoft forums, and become one of the best run Airsoft organizations in the United States. Newman, signing out for the night.
