Alright, here's where I'm going to go over the lengthy story of the M249. I ordered the 249 in late September, knowing that it would take a month to be finished and shipped. After emailing TQP to double check that 30 days was a good estimate (And wouldn't take longer), they assured me that while they had 20 AEG's in front of mine, that it would be done by then.
Fast forward to two weeks later, and TQP emailed me to say they had just finished development of a prototype 249 piston made of 6066 AL that would greatly increase the life of the gun, and it could go in my gun for an extra $65 and a week delay for testing. Since the piston is what fails in ANGS setups, I went for it. So, at this point, I should be recieving the gun the last week of October, right? Right.
A week later. TQP now announces a 7077 AL piston and the sales rep assures me that it'll go in my gun for free! How cool is that? I love TQP.
Fast forward to the last week of October. The fires in San Diego county forced TQP to evacuate and go on a week long hiatus, but good news, they're about to start on my gun and I can have the 7077 AL piston for only an extra $28. Wait, hunh? I email back stating that I'll take it for free, aststaed before, thanks.
No reply.
A week later, now into November, a TQP tech emails me saying that my gun is shooting well at over 400+ FPS. This not only puts me in a new engagement limit (Which I definitely don't want), but could mean my machinegun could be classified as a sniper rifle. This is getting out of hand, and I email both him and the sales rep that I wanted 350+ FPS and want to know what piston is in the gun. The rep says he'll have the techs switch the spring out in the morning and get it shipped with the 7077 piston.
8 days later, it arrived via Fedex.
If it wasn't for these communication mistakes, TQP would be getting a higher score, but with the price I was paying, I expected to be kept in the loop a little bit more. The $28 price hike on the piston really pissed me off but they did the right thing and stood by their word.
Now, in the past, I've ordered misc. parts (An HK53 Flash hider) and those come in just fine. Their web store is nice and easily navigable, and you can track the order from it. That's a nice option.
