Bah! Looks like the main MiA site has run into some trouble Gentlemen. Over the past few days I haven't been able to connect to my site via ftp or by the cheesy webftp service szm.sk offers. After a few days of retrying I decided to email their tech support and find out what was going on. Turns out that international users (szm.sk is from Slovakia, Europe) are no longer welcome and have denied ftp/website access to pretty much every country except ones neighboring Slovakia. Of course the morons failed to mention they would be making such changes. So I've got no other option but to start looking for a new host. Luckily I still have everything backed up here on the HD so I won't be losing anything important, but I WILL be losing time I don't even have looking for a new host and getting things running again. I'm pissed, very pissed. Especially since no warning was given, and the fact that I can't even edit the main page to let visitors know what's going on. GRRRRRRRRR! I don't usually swear, but...it's time to vent methinks. Here's something for our Slovak pals: Ze by vam psi gule zozrali vy kokoti pojebany!!!! Ani neviete poslat posrati email ze bude zmeny?? Nech vam cigani matky pojebu!! Aah, much better. ;D

mailto:hosting@tf2hq.com try this place. But, you need to email them, because TF2, will only accept gaming sites, unless you receive permission otherwise. They are a bunch of friendly folk, and if your nice, they will probably host the MIA site.

Whoa man that sux . Well, there was nothing you could do, so dont get to upset, we will just have to form up a little assault team and well... you know the drill.. ;D. Anyhoo, i will talk to my bro and see if he can find us a good, fast server. So, we will just wait and see, but in the mean time, i will see what i can do.

I'd rather be digested in the belly of the mighty sarlac than move my site to Geoshites.

don't go with geocities it is for newbies and not real serious people. Hosting a site banner-free would probably be a little on the expensive side especially since you don't make money from MIA. I guess you could sell links to your new URL or something to fund the site. Or maybe on second thought that isn't such a good idea.

Hado, I have an idea. I don't use my Comcast website, which is 25 megs of free space + unlimited bandwidth (with common sense or they get mad). You could get a free www.michiganairsoft.com redirect to my Comcast page, and that would work perfectly. Eh? E-mail me, dude.

Newman, how did you get access to your Comcast website? We're supposed to have a free one, but I never got any info.

Hrm...I dunno Viking. I had http://www.(something).com before, it was free. All it did was redirect anybody who typed that in to my site on like 50megs.com (have to pay for 50megs.com now). I'll do some research now for that, and if I can actually get it, I'll set it all up.

if TF2HQ, will let you get hosted from them, they are one of the best I have found. They are FREE, have unlimited bandwitdh, ftp upload, super fast, not size limits, pretty much all the good stuff of a pay host, for free. As for URL redirection, cjb is ok, although those popups anymore are annoying. My URL, www.dpdteam.com, cost 15 bucks, which isnt too bad. 10 bucks for the domain, and 5 bucks to direct it to the page.

Hrm...I had 50 megs free and a free redirect. Guess I was living in the ice ages. ;D I'm looking right now for free domain names...guess that's pretty hard, huh. Didn't use to be.

There is one spot that has pretty good redirect. is www.dot.tk so the URL would be MichiganAirsoft.tk, which is pretty short.

We have been with www.hostsave.com for the last 3 years and they have been great, and cheap $7.95/mo (used to be $6.95) 30 meg, 5 pop3, unlimited forwarding, etc..... Course you'd have to do a fund raiser or a pop can drive or something.........

if you wanna do it hosting with Comcast it might be a little slow but in order to do it you have to go to comcast.net and log in with your user ID and password that you use for e-mail.
