Oh...hmm maybe a switch to v-bulletin software would be bennificial...actually...I don't even know what software is being used on this forum. I should have looked into that before I opened my mouth...no time to check now.

Proboards uses their own software, they write, modify, and manage it.
Unfortunately, this forum generates zero positive revenue...we're basically stuck into using what's available for free until a point where we can fund our own server out of our own pockets.
I think thats going to happen at some point...just can't give an estimation as to when.

Why not just ask if anyone here has a server and can host a forum?
I'm sure someone has access to a stable server. How fast of a server you looking for?

Not to try and hijack, but since it's already been... It;s not a good idea to give the whole forum to someone to host unless they are being paid to host it and are legally obligated to keep it running. Otherwise the member who has the server could give themselves a secret admin account, and if they get found out and banned or decide someone is being a douche... you then have a run-away forum being controlled by the wrong person. If thee was money exchange and so forth, legal actions could follow... but the safe bet is to go with professionals and just pay the price.

I'd have long since offerred to host the forum myself except for the aforementioned trust issues, bandwidth charges, and the fact that there's an enourmous amount of information on this forum that wouldn't necessarily be easy to move over to a new site.

Well I'm going to have to change my opinion somewhat on Evike. He charged my credit card almost a week before he shipped my junk. So if anybody here knows much about online e-tailers thats a bit on the illegal side. This will probably be my last purchase from evike because of this.

The problem was resolved somewhat.
They sent them out to him ( or so they say they did) 3 day shipping... of no charge at all... They sent them completely free, of no cost .... THey didn't charge him for any hicaps, order total was 93$... shoulda been 190$

Well, I would say, that's a deal. (even though you had to wait and stuff, and didn't get them in time for the game, but looks like you got a good deal out of their laziness/neglegance)

Yeah. I told him that too. I'd rather my stuff come late all the time and get it free
