Once agian, to anyone interested, we have started building airsoft parts. We are scheduled to release our first part on 4/23/04. It will be the pins that hold the upper and lower recievers together for the M15/M4. They will be packed as a pair and will cost $11.00 per set. More products to follow for sure.

Do we honestly need a new thread for every single new thing that's going to be happening at 21CA? Can we just have one master thread, since any new replies will bump it to the top?

If he does that and then goes more than a month without building new parts, people will yell at him for restarting dead threads. Proper ettiquette in this situation seems to be somewhat obscure.

Technically, you're right, but I would consider this forum, as well as the Gallery, exempt of the dead thread rule since people are always buying things from different retailers at different times.

There is also the "loophole" so to speak of the norm, that would allow one to bump an older post, so long as it is of a constructive nature, regardless of location.

OR....
21st Century Airsoft could do what every other airsoft retailer does and maintain these announcements on their OWN board. I don't have anything against Bill and his crew, they seem like good guys. But this ins't a 21st Century Airsoft forum, it's a Michigan Airsoft Forum. You don't see Francois or Michel spamming Airsoft Ohio, do you?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for retail outlets working closely to support their customer base. But when 7 of the topics on the first page are for the same store, things are getting a little out of hand.

Lets make this simple, how many airsoft shops in america are attempting to build their own line a replacement parts here in america. I have not seen to many myself. We are not attempting to build just one part or do a few mods and call it good. We intend to offer a large amount of parts. By doing this we should be able to make upgrades and repairs a lot cheaper for all of us. We can all avoid the shipping, the customs, and delays. I put the damn thing in retailer reviews and Discussion. The name on it is RETAILER, to me this means people who own a store, buy or sell airsoft or want to make a comment about people who buy and sell airsoft. In order for us to make an impact on airsoft in America we as sellers and producers need input. I am sorry that some of you think that I should not post things like this but I wan input from airsoft players that actually know what they are doing and talking about. The web site idea brings a lot of people just getting started and that is great, but I/we need input from experience players. The number one thing that I was told by all of you was "airsoft products at overseas prices" That is what we are focused on. Please give us hand. If you do not like what retailers have to say then maybe have a section that is called "Vendor Ratings by Customers" and have a seperate section called Retailers Information. That way if any retailer is going to have something to say they have an area to do it in with out being knocked down. I am sorry if I seem upset but we need feed back and the MIA is the best source of feed back that I have found. If we do not get feed back how can we promote airsoft and attempt to get you all the pricing that you stated as the number one improvement needed in airsoft. No one seems to bitch to much when TM releases a new gun. So why the complaints that we are releasing a new product??

No one bitches because TM doesn't make a new item on the boards every time they release a new gun. Systema doesn't do a drive-by posting every time a new gear set or spring is released. RedWolf doesn't post here all the time pimping their custom guns.
Why should your store be any different? Why should you essentially receive free advertising just because you happen to be in the same state?
There is a reason that most online fora have strict rules against commercial posts. I'm actually surprised that Hado hasn't put his foot down sooner, to tell you the truth.
I'm not faulting you for trying to get something cool going. I think that domestic replacement parts fabrication is a fantastic idea, and it's a service that I would use repeatedly (as I love to tinker). But I think you're treading the bounds of propriety by pimping your goods and services so aggressively on this board.
I applaud you for trying to get feedback. I applaud you for wanting to work closely with your primary customer base. I applaud you for having the only airsoft showroom in the state. But isn't one topic enough? Seriously, count how many items in this section are for 21st Century Airsoft. If any other manufacturer, retailer, or dealer gets mentioned more than once, most people are like, "there's already a topic for this, post in that one, don't make a new one." Yet every time you have an announcement, you make an entirely new thread for it.
We're more than happy to give you feedback. But I'd rather not open up the Retailer discussion and see it full of 21CA stuff.
But unless you want to pay the tab to maintain the forum, I'd prefer if you'd tone down the advertising. Because that's what you're doing - advertising.

Gastapo, I thank you for the offer but at this time I think that I will hold until the web site and the other 1000 projects are caught up with. The MIA is a great place even if some of its members and I do not see eye to eye all of the time it is good to get critism from all angles, that is the best way to grow. What kills me though is free choice, you can choose to read something or you can choose to ignore it. I think that some people just like a good ole arguement or the chance to put some people down for tyring. The key here is choice. Either way, thank you for the offer. The next time you stop by hit me up on it again and we will do some more talking on the subject.

Bill, you and I get along well so don't take this the wrong way. The argument with choice could also be applied to the kids that type in AIM speak, which none of us want to hear:) Now I'm not saying it's the same, it's just that the forum goers could ignore that also. Either way, just wanted to give you my input on the look the other way issue:)

I understand that side of it Luke and I realize that advertising is a no no on this board, and yes I stretch the envelope a lot and will try not to in the future, but I was thinking on a bigger scale than just the MIA. I was thinking life in general. It seems like all we ever hear about these days is people complaining about life, the ecomomy, ect. ect. When in all reality most of life is a choice. We all can choose to get a diploma or ged, we can choose to go to college or night school for a further education, we can choose to get married young or stay single. The choices that we make today affect all that we do down the road and I just think that most people just don't get it.
