I think it would be pretty sweet if during airsoft some sort of explosions could be set off or something. like fireballs and stuff. post any SAFE ideas.

im talking like fireball explosions that make it look like REAL grenades going off or mortars hitting, something like that to add realism.

"Safe" would be directly proportional to the size of the explosion, length of the device's fuse and running speed of the participants, wouldn't it? ;D

Here is how i see it working-
the explosion wouldn't make flames-it would amke a fireball. that sounds retarded but let me explain. you would have a person sitting on the sidelines with a control panel like a electric rocket launcher pad thingys, which would lead to different charges set in the field, buried in the ground.it would be an electrical detonation so u would be using no open flame fuses. the reaction would happen in a fraction of a second. when a person was like 15-20 feet away, he would set that single charge off using some sort of selector switch. using a gas-flour-black powder combination, it would make a relatively safe explosion. It is pretty simple-relatively cheap

Volunteers - do I have a volunteer? Where did everybody go?!?!?!
It's a cool idea, and it would be fun, but I'm not sure we have any experienced pyrotechicians or demolitions guys on the forum. I've made all sorts of things that go bang, flash or just smoke a lot. They all did not go as planned (note small scar in leg from .22 shell stuffed with match heads that I touched off when I was a teen), even after numerous tests. I'd hate to catch someone or the property where we're playing on fire. Then there's the attn that you may get from LEO's and the dilemma of realistic looking guns.
Don't get me wrong, it would be interesting, but risky and I have too many responsibilities and bills as it is.

Check out the Austrian airsoft site Airsoft.dot.at for a "Airsoft Grenade test video" The idea is nice, but I think the grenades just aren't as effective as they should be. Power seems very minimal and by the looks of things they take a little too long to go off.

how about be get one of those cheap RC cars from Radio Shack, strap a few M- 80s on, light, then drive it towards the other team ;D O wait then the battery and motor would catch on fire and we would have a big problem.
