i realize that, but a new gun might sell better, making it worth the money they put into it.

Am I the only one who is seeing this?
The UMP45 is basicly an MP5 (tooled to shoot ACP), with an RAS and a PDW-style stock. The only difference between this new thing and the '45 is the straight clip and flat gray receiver.
This is half way to the UMP, so I'm sure a TM version or conversion kit will soon be on the way.
Also: MP5's are what everyone buys. Instead of loosing money to people who upgrade their guns, TM is just selling an pre-tuned gun.
I don't think it's ugly.

Head on over to Arnies Airsoft for some great new pics of the upcoming MP5 along with some pics of the new MK23 Socom NBB. The more I see that new MP5 the more I like it. *me drools* Edit: OOh@new Marui reddot sights! Wonder how much they'll cost.

If I didn't already own my MP5 with all its little accessories I'd probably go for this new one once it's released. Price wise it's a little higher than your regular MP5's, but that's understandable once you see everything it comes with. TM MP5-RAS - RRP of 38,800 Yen which is roughly 312USD.

actually ed, the UMP is a closer relative of the G36 than to any of the MP5 series. THe UMP utilizes a polymer reciever and the same gas system used in the G36 and the MP7, rather than the roller locking system used in the MP5 and the G3

Yes, I know Spectre but everyone was talking about the UMP and you have to admit that the RAS version does look like the UMP (more than a little...same front, stock and top rail).
