there is a risk of it being seized by customs if you don't have the trademarks fully covered with putty (not tape) and the barrel painted orange. specifically ask your selected retailer to cover all trademarks on the gun with putty and to remove trademarks from the box and manuals. Also ask them to paint the barrel orange. specify the color number as color # 12189 or "brighter". if both are done, then it will pass throught customs. Airsoft guns are legal to import (and it's really the only way to get them, either you import it, or a us based retailer imports it) as long as there are no trades and the barrel is orange. as a side note, go to www.airsoftplayers.com and check out their retailer rating section to see how your selected retailer stacks up against the rest. it might change your mind about ordering from them, or reinforce that good feeling you have.

DEN Trinity Shop sent my P90 over fine, and they didnt have to put putty over the trademarks... They just blacked the ones on the box and manual out...

Well an American person (Voss) has a better chance of getting a gun seized if the weapon has Colt insignia more than if it's FN. Correct me if I'm wrong. My first AEG order from overseas was destroyed by customs for having Colt trademarks open, but the guy was nice enough to send out a replacement package without an extra charge. www.airsoftshop.com

Umm............the P90 itself doesn't have any FN trades. It just says "FN" on the reciever somewhere.
While we're on the subject of trades, what's the big deal about having them? Don't our guns look real enough already.........?

The reason P90's don't get seized at customs is because they rock!

Blorfo, from the united states' standpoint, it's not realism, it's copyright infringement. You can't make a cola and call it coke, nor can you start a fast food chain and call it McDonalds (and server you version of coke of course), so why should there be a gun under the same name of an already existing gun? WA's are import friendly so to say as they officially license their products. But TM doesn't feel the need to pay for official licensing as they don't feel that the united states' corner of the market is worth that much to them.

Are you talking about that? if you are, what I meant to say was: "Why is it such a big deal with US airsofters (or any other airsofters in general) to have trades on thier guns?"

well, i misinterpreted that, sorry. now to answer what you were really asking.
a lot of people like to by airsoft guns to collect them as well as play with them. For that purpose, trades are a must. how can you show your gun (real steel) collecting buddies that you collect perfect replicas when it has some grazy g on the slide instead of the true glock logo? Some people are just perfectionists and want perfect trades. I personally don't care too much about them, but the moer accurate, the better.

All i care about is not having an orange barrel. I just use paint thinner to wash it off, buy a new barrel, or paint over it. Trade marks aren't that big.
If you point the gun at someone do you really think they'll check for trademarks?

Greekman it's a legal matter of the actual firearms company. You could be sued for it.

Fool, 'tis not a tade mark, 'tis only letters. the FN trademark is really fancy-like.
Bah. I still think the whole trade thing is silly.
