Uggghh. I hate trying to read read text. Do the STAR L85s still have the plastic GBs? Star no longer makes airsoft guns. That said, the Ares guns ( QRF is the factory of both brands) have metal GBs in them. Although, the last time Is poke to Ares, they were discontinuing that line due to poor sales in the marketplace.

There are still some L85s at Ehobby Asia, and yes, STAR L85s do have Lexan (aka bulletproof material that is better at handling stress than the potmetal gearbox shells everyone else uses) gearbox shells. ARES gave them metal gearbox shells, probably because it's cheaper, or maybe because many people were confused about what Lexan really is. I have noticed ARES really only makes a few models, mostly the newer ones. Everything else is permanantly out of stock.

I had no idea STAR's use Lexan for their bodies. This would definitely make them stronger than your average AEG gearbox. I'm not sure about stronger than a reinforced GB though. I know Mythbusters use Lexan for their blast shields.

New, sexy blaster. Thanks jump! Gonna do some work on it, I've got some ideas, but I figured I'd post these up here since the stuff I wanna do will prolly take me 2 years =p Don't ask me what brands stuff is, Iono. I know it's a TM, that's about it =p Setup 1 : The "I'm gonna destroy your back because I weigh 30 pounds" setup. Setup 2 : The "Okay you're tired now you can stop looking cool" setup. Plans : Flat top G36 rail, optics (aimpoint is what I have on it now, iono if I like it....), maybe a C grip (short style). I've got a barrel extender in there now, so I can shorten the barrel up for the C grip. Oh, and a C mag for the K setup. Mmm and maybe one of those single optic sight rails - the dual optic rail is great for photos, but the paralax is terrible. I dont think I could get my eye into the scope with goggles on =( EDIT : K, wasnt going to do this, but I'm bored before work The "work in progress" toprail. Don't have it painted, and don't have the proper mounting hardware, so keep that in mind. Not sure if I even like it =p

Where did you get a straight mag? It was one of my creations using a mix of an mp5 and a TM-uzi mag.

Arc, I love the straight mag. I've always preferred them in MP5s but as far as I know, they do not make replicas. Awesome man.

It would be awesome to have a mp5-10 replica out. Or just even straight mags with 10mm markings on them.
