i jsut got the classic army MP-5A2, and i honeslty could not be happier with the gun. i love the magazine release operation, and I just think the navy flash hider over a tac light looks pretty bad ass. I got mine from airsoft extreme so supossedly it's spec'd to shoot 350 fps out of the box.

Cool beans!! I hope you'll be able to post some pics, I'd love to add them to the Gallery. Edit: woops, didn't see the broken link to a pic in your post. Take more take more! And perhaps a "first impressions" write up?

I expect youve bought it already, but when I was deciding on which gun I wanted I made a list of the top 15 or so guns I would like. I cut out some that i knew I just didnt want, for one reason or another. Then I eliminated those that were just too expensive. Later, I compared reviews of each along with the design. I came down to the SIG 551, G3A4, and MC 51. Eventually I decided that I wanted the MC 51 because it had a good reputation, collapsable stock and huge mag (500 rd hicap!) no in round reloads with one of those! I just definitely knew which ones I didnt want then eliminated the others. FAMAS is a nice choice, i heard they go through batteries quick because of that crazy ROF.

Unnamed, my wife and I both have the FAMAS. We skirmish 3 days on one battery charge (maybe even more, but we never tried it). And I go though 1500+ rounds a day (because I suck). So whereever you heard that, it was false. My wife's SR-16 with a 9.6v 2000mah battery doesnt last as long.

Okay while we are on the topic of High Caps... Kinda... is it just me or does high caps kinda... umm... take away from the realistic ness of airsoft? I mean most rifles today have a magazine capacity of 25-30 rounds, not 68 (standard m16) not 300 (g3 high cap). I think it would be cool to have an over night skirmish where the magazine caps are affected by the real steal limitations. I kinda get tried of the high capers who just spray and use no skill what so ever. But then again I am just as guilty as the next guy, I just received my first high cap by fedex today.

Well, I personally do not have the money to lay down on regular mags. to get the capacity of my one high cap, I would have to by 5 regular mags. Thats $135. So hmmm, $40 vs $135... pretty easy decision for me. Some the people I play with like regular mags, they like the realism (even though that still isn't realistic). But for most the use of high cap is for econmic reasons, not because they want to spray..

Locutus!, you're so lucky your wife is into Airsoft. Sheesh, my wife hates the whole thing and won't even HOLD my SD6. Shes fired my G18 a couple of times but doh, not even the full auto sweetness was able to change her mind. She does like revolvers though..so maaaybeee if I sneak her one she'll start liking it a little more. Hmm...now theres a plan! By the way, your Airsoft Toys advertisements finally payed off, I'll probably be ordering from there today or tomorrow

its 500 for the g3 hicap. do those fit into the psg1 too? I agree that its mostly in the cost. I would probably get more regular magazines except that you have to have a good 4 or so for even a short game. I dont really think its that big of a deal. You probably wont find many times when you wouldnt have time to reload anyway. I find that if you dont hit them with your first burst of 20-30 shots your probably not going to.

In our little Airsoft ring we have forbidden the use of Hi-Caps. I know it may be stupid, but we prefer to have people RELOAD in the field and actually have to conserve their ammo -Smokey

Hado, it is pretty cool that my wife likes Airsoft (we just had Operation Poison Dagger today and had a great game, my wife is one the best players on my team). The only bad thing about it is it doubles my Airsoft expenses! I have to buy twice as many guns (of course I can't get a new gun unless she does.. but for some reason it's ok if it's the other way around.. go figure), twice as many BB's, twice as much gear.. it adds up fast! I have nothing else to say, but all in all, I am very glad my wife enjoy's it. Now she doesn't make me take her fishing! Yay!!

i see nothing romantic about taking out a loading rod and loading in the field after you run out with your 1-3 regualr mags, about 20 minutes in. I guess if youve got a lot of money to drop that would work, but I really dont.

I don’t already like high caps, and then I tried mine today and only mad my dislike for them grows. They rattle! How the heck is I suppose to go stealth with bbs bouncing around? Plus it misses a beat to often and the winding, arg, ill pay my 200 bucks in standards.
