There isn't an issue about power though? The only problem about AK packs is their low life? Thanks

right, but the problem will come with the upgrades draining the life really quickly. My gun isn't upgraded, so there's no more force that requires extra drive. All 8.4 volt battery packs have the same power more or less, so a mini or a battery with low mAh wouldn't power a stock gun any weaker, just for not quite so long. With an upgraded gun, an 8.4 volt batter might not be enough to drive the gears properly, so a 9.6 volt battery may be required. I don't know anything about what upgrades your thinking of, or upgrades in general, so i don't know if you'll need a larger battery.

yeah, I put in an M100 spring in my AK-47s and it had a great deal of trouble with the 600mAh 8.4v battery, so I finally expanded, putting a couple batteries in the front reciever, and I have a 10.8v 600mAh battery, which keeps the rate of fire up like it used to be before the upgrade. Now the only problem is that 600mAh batteries drain like mad, I need something better.

Thats what I'm afraid of...now if there was a solid stock AK upgrade...

you can always leave the stock it comes with, or buy a wood one if you want it, and just upgrade the rest of the gun. That'll leave you with a solid stock.

well, when I say, "it drains like mad", I mean that the battery may last a full squirmish, but I have still yet to find out myself I need to charge my battery well.
I think it has some bad cells in mine because mine has been dying faster than it should every time I do charge it, or sometimes I even end up running into battle with a fully dead battery after thinking i charged it, but thats my battery, I think its just goin bad.

So, you guys think I should go with the AK-47 solid stock and not do the dragunov upgrade? Thats the Impression i'm getting, and it seems to be the best way to go at the moment...

If you're gonna upgrade it, you'll probably need, or at least want the larger battery capacity, which you can't get with the dragonov stock. The small battery capcity is my only gripe so far with my PDW, I can't upgrade it very easily.

if this is chuch which i am assuming it is. we already have to aks, so i think it would be cool to get something no one has. its up to u though. get whatever you want. when it comes to guns and cosmetic uprgrades its ussualy up to u.

Yeah, it's Chuck, he has the same name on NSAG. Mike brings up a good point here, you might want to consider being original in our group. But then a gain, if you have your heart set on an AK, you should get it. Let being original be a secondary priority in your purchases.

I completely Agree...but there is one problem...I don't have the money to get a more expensive gun at the moment...I have a good $275, $285 if I push it. I can't expect help from parents for my birthday, and If I wait to try to earn more money, I probably won't get it before June 1. The cheapest I've found is so far www.Airsofttoys.com for $310+shipping. I could go with a Hong Kong company, but they only have specials on the AK right now :-/By the way, I'm looking at the SR-16. If you guys have any other sugestions, here are my criteria: -Long range -Solid stock -Very ACCURATE -eg 7oo/1ooo motor -Very Upgradable -large -No major problems reported (like chasis twist on the SG-1) -Electric Thats basically it. The M4A1 is nice, but as you guys are saying, Neil already has one, and, it doesn't have a solid stock. At the moment, the AK is the only viable option I'm seeing, exept if the Styer suddenly grows on me. Now...if you guys were to bribe me with 50 bucks...I could definitly get the SR16. Almost as good as a bribe, If you guys could simply tell me where a relly cheap place to purchas the sr16 is, I could work for a few hours this weekend, make some money, and buy it myself, but $310 without a battery or shipping is a little much at the moment. Thanks,
