I think I saw it on cheaper than dirt for $150. It had a lot of extras (just about every one that you mentioned.) If you want to spend $150 on a radio, be my guest. Do you really need all those accessories? I would just be fine with a few channels and a low-bat light. here is the site where I found it: www.cheaperthandirt.com

I think for 150 id go with a nice cobra radio. for that you could pick up one with a 5 mile range that picks of the cop frequencies.

For $150 I'd go with a KSC Ingram M11.
Accessories are cool, but you shouldn't spend too much on them.

my favorite would be a cobra somehow attached out of the way, with a cord running from an earpiece and to throat mic. have you seen those? they rock!

I always thought that throat mics never worked. They do look very cool but I could see a lot of problems with complications.

throt mics work as long as you get the good ones, the ones that cost upwards of a $1000. The cheap knockoffs dont work well at all.

I see. A throat mic could just be what my wardrob needed.
I can either get the mic or eat for the next two semesters.

well you should definitely buy the mic. I mean, its not like I was suggesting something that might be cool, I was really saying that you should buy one. Because I know everyone here has thousands of dollars to spend on toys. I figured you must be able to afford one.

[glow=black,5,750]has any one heard about the Jaw bone Mic? it wraps around your head bye your jaw, very small and suposivly comfortable, the mic censors the movement of your jaw when you talk to turn in on so you dont have that anoying button, and you can hear very clear, without any one knowthat someone is talking to you, it looks like a strap for you helmet, so it is like camoflauge, i seen it on a swat member that i met over the weekend, some lil get to gether thing (charity) but i asked a lot of question and that moron couldnt answer a lot of them so i am asking if any one has heard about this.... peace,
also i bet it is EXPENSIVE[/glow]

yeah, that is because they can pick up frequencies that could be dangerous to let normal people have. I believe it is a fcc agreement. It doesnt really mean anything (anyone can get one) but there are probably consequences for using one to pick up cop frequencies or the frequencies your local airport tower uses ;D

Actually, its not because of the frequencies, it is because of thier power. Anything over 500mW requires an operators license.
