Michigan State Airsoft Leader Recruitment
Hey guys, I know Michigan State threads have been made in the past. This is kind of different.
What we're looking for is about three more dedicated people in the East Lansing area to help start an airsoft club at MSU. We're pulling out all the stops to get this club off the ground. We know there isn't a ton of interest across campus and part of our game plan is to build interest. I just need three more people to help represent and organize the club before we start mass recruiting.
If you're interested in helping run this organization, PM me or E-Mail MichiganStateAirsoft@gmail.com
This is happening.

As soon as I'm up there this Fall, you know I'll be there to help. Yeah I know you will in a heartbeat. I just want this to be set up before SpartanSpectacular, because that will be mass recruitment.

Dahm, if you ever decide you have time for a meeting or two a month, let me know. We could definitely use someone with your experience.

Yeah, I would be in, but school restricts me enough as it is. What exactly are you trying to do? I may be interested..you need to hammer this out some more though.

Yeah, I would be in, but school restricts me enough as it is. What exactly are you trying to do? I may be interested..you need to hammer this out some more though. Miles, we have a pretty solid plan set up to get this off the ground. I just chose not to put details up. Right now what we're trying to do is gather together about five people together to represent and organize the club and meet briefly a couple times a month. Then the plan is to construct an organization constitution, required to become an official organization on campus. The organization will become official before or after the mass recruitment process (depending on how many people we need to make it official). The mass recruitment process as of now is to create hundreds of colored posters and post them at all major locations across campus. We will also be at SpartanSpectacular. The posters (not finalized) will be marketed towards everyone, when I say everyone, I mean it will literally mention things like, "Come join us boys and girls". The posters will basically make sure no one who's even slightly interested would feel like they would be excluded from coming to the information meeting and potentially becoming a member. The plan is to keep the club as open as possible to build numbers. And, as much as I don't really want to, we would market it towards Call of Duty/Battlefield fans especially. We also talked about created an ad to put up on YouTube. Now at the first informational meeting we would basically explain how airsoft is not a Wallmart-gun backyard sport. We'd show videos and pictures of the sport and how to get started. Basically we'd explain the sport in depth. Then if anyone was interested in trying out the sport, we'd let them at no cost or almost no cost(decide that later). My plan is to buy one or two G&G Combat Machine M4's to start. We'd let people try out a REC game and see if they wanted to invest in it. That's a big thing for new players that are not sure if they want to play airsoft. No one wants to risk spending hundreds on equipment to realize it's not their cup of tea. So our solution is to loan out some Combat Machines (Reliable and cheap) to people who want to try it. Now hypothetically if this club were to obtain a decent amount of members the plan is to have a big club that would meet maybe twice a month or once a month. And within that club we'd have a smaller elite team that would represent the university when it would go to MilSim games and would require tryouts and the team would have specific uniforms along with Spartan patches Everything I mentioned above is just the idea for now. Once we get the about five people I mentioned earlier, we will finalize our plan with what we think will be most effective. And yes, school restricts me too. I don't have a lot of time to spare either. I'm a physics major, I work closely with another non-profit organization on campus and work part time on top of that. I've wanted this club created ever since I arrived here and I'm willing to make a little time for it in hopes that it will turn into something big.

I might have some time this semester to do something to help you guys out. I kind of doubt I would have time to become a full blown member however. I'm already very involved with another club at MSU, and that usually takes up most of my free time that I don't spend with my fiancé.
I picked up a TM M14 this month so I'll be "around".

I'd be interested in joining. I attend LCC, not MSU but would that be a problem? Would we need to be MSU students to join, especially if you intend to make this an official MSU student organization? Good luck with the paperwork on it too. If trying to start a LCC student organization is anything like MSU's then you'll soon realize it's not as easy as it looks

Wow, I've actually gotten more responses than I anticipated and a good number are students. Terrific So what I'm going to do now is organize everyone's information into like spreadsheet and try and work out a day where I can get as many people together as possible for a meeting and discuss the next steps. Kanzy, the club will be open to everyone. To everyone who aren't somehow affiliated with the university, my plan is that the "club" will be open to everyone. I can think of a few clubs on campus that have members who aren't affiliated with the university. So I figure this would be no different. The only thing, in the rare-way-distance-future chance that there became a sponsored team or a sponsored portion of the club. Obviously only students would get sponsored. Like, for example, the University of Connecticut pays for their team to travel the country and represent the school.
