Hello, all! I'm looking to upgrade my piston and piston head for a CYMA M14 operating with an M150 and 11.1 lipo on standard ratio gears. I don't imagine the stock parts will last very long and would appreciate some advice from those of you with far greater experience than I. I was looking along the lines of aluminium parts since polycarb wouldn't seem to me to be as durable. I know I want at least half metal teeth but do I want it full? With that much spring power slamming up against the front of my gearbox, I was hoping I could have a sorbo there to help soften the blow a little too. I have 1/8th inch 70D sorbo material at hand. I plan on operating this rifle on semi auto but want the option to go full now and again so endurance is a big part. I'll be firing .3s and up and am looking for consistency at ranges of 200-250 feet.
To sum up, my question is what piston and piston head would you recommend for use in this CYMA version 7 gearbox with these parameters?
Any and all advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.

You do not want aluminum, it's too heavy and puts unneeded strain on your gearbox. Definitely use sorbo, I would use a thicker pad in order to correct AOE. I prefer lonex piston heads, but as long as the stock one seals well then you can probably use that without issue. Lonex red pistons are great for just about any setup. Be sure to radius your cylinder windows and do all the standard accuracy mods. If your going for accuracy and consistency, you're going to want a high quality 6.03mm barrel (Prometheus usually). Look into the rhop if you haven't already. That will handle the accuracy. The key to consistency is ensuring consistent output. This means locking your barrel down and making sure your airseal is perfect so you have the same power output for each shot.

You won't want to be shooting an M150 in full-auto (not to mention at that FPS you can't be using it within any game using MiA Regulations). I'd probably upgrade your wiring to some sort of Silicone Low-Resistance (16g) wiring and install a Mosfet to save your contact points from your LiPo. A High-Torque motor and a very good shim job will also greatly help.

Lonex 10 tooth piston is arguably the strongest piston on the market. It should take all the abuse you can throw at it. I personally like element orange piston heads. They are solid and seal very well. Lonex is another great brand but more expensive.

I want to thank you all for your advice. I'm going to try some of the items mentioned and see what works best for me. Results will be posted in the following months.
