So for the pit what ammo should I buy for longer range with my setup? My shotty can accomodate 3.5" shell.
Thanks.
They make a rifled slug. I don't know if there is any issue running that through a choke. I'm sure a guy at a gun shop will have more advice on that. Supposedly they do fairly good, in the absence of a rifled barrel and sabot slugs.

Pick few rounds of rifled slug and the store told me to use improved cylinder for it. Also pick up a box of 3.5" buckshot to tear up my shoulder. Can't wait for this weekend.
Guess I'll just buy different ammo and tried it out.
Another question is can we bring airsoft gun and shoot it there or just strictly real steel only?
They don't care but people might be confused... It might be better just to stick to real guns. I don't like to mix the two.
I agree with this here, of course when at the range I'm sure everyone is going to treat any gun they see as if it were loaded but it's always better to keep the replicas separate all together. Looking forward to shooting with everyone Sunday.

My Shotty can only chamber 3" shells, but I've shot 00 Buck, Sabot Slug, Clay loads, and Winchester PDX1. The PDX1 I found to have the biggest kick. Here is a link to what it is.
I was trying to find the hardest hitting ammo because I intend to buy and try the Blackhawk AR style stock, and I wanted to see if it actually reduced felt recoil.

Can anyone bring an M&P9 "Shield" with them? I know its somewhat new but I'd love to shoot one because I'm pretty convinced I'm going to buy one as soon as I can afford it.

+1 I would really like to get a little bit of trigger time on one of these. Hope someone has one that can bring it out sometime.

Reminder, bring these things with you:
- Hearing protection - Eye protection if you want it, I don't think its required but its a good idea anyways - Snacks/Lunch - WATER - More water - Just a bit more water, to be on the safe side - Folding chair or blanket for prone shooting - Ammo - More ammo - Cleaning kits and unjamming rods (yes, its happened before) - Targets - Target stands (http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4/chefwu101/P1170674.jpg or use one of those free political lawn signs)

Don't have target stand or stuff like that but is it ok for me to bring some empty box and stuff it with paper or newspaper or sand whatever to shoot it up?

I think if you take cardboard boxes and put targets on them it will be fine. I'm not sure how well the new code will be enforced since there won't really be a range office on sight. You can probably still get away with shooting up anything as long as you take it back home with you. Don't quote me on that though, its just an educated guess.

There, I just quoted you on that. Laugh. Actually I was just thinking, bring a lot of pop, drink it, and use the cans for targets if you can get away with it. If not, at least you have pop.

Yeah that would work too as long as you pick up the cans when you're done.
Either way still bring lots of water because even pop just dehydrates you in the end. It might be very hot and there's little to no cover from the sun when you're at the firing line.

If we have to pick up those empty can to bring it back that means we don't put enough ammo downrange and not having enough fun...
I'll bring a pop up gazebo for shading just in case people get dehydrate or just need some quick chilling time.
