It could still get defeated in the Senate if you're against it. I'm pro-health care and honestly, the only really negative thing about this is Obama and the Houses under the table abortion deal but I guess if health care provides birth-control it won't matter.

All I know is, either way this goes down, some people will not be coming back in November. This is getting close enough to the election now that people won't forget, especially when the campaign ads start running.

I'm also fuming, I will cry tears of joy if it get voted down in the Senate. @Monk, if you think the only thing wrong with the bill is Obama and his bribs, please read the bill, you'd be amazed at all the off topic shit he threw in this bill just so he could pass it without anyone noticing. I don't want to start a flame war though so sorry if I have offended you Monk.

Democrats are hailing this as a victory for change and an evolution in America.
I agree they are correct. As Thor said, elections are just around the corner. No one, but no one will forget this day for a long time. Be prepared, the next 2 years will see nothing in the movement from house to senate to oval office. However, after that there will be true change, radical change, constitutional and ethical change.
What is appalling is the celebration, celebration for what? A strong armed, un-apposed free pass?
Look at this logically (I know, politicians logical?) look at the pure numbers 34 Democrats AGAINST that's THIRTY-FOUR from Mr. Obama's OWN PARTY that think he is wrong. We are talking about getting 34 people AGREEING this is nearly an impossible feat, much less the fact they are agreeing with REPUBLICANS (even the "far right").
You'll also notice the peculiar presidential push. Why? Mr. Obama strongly criticized President Bush for his executive decisions, and yet no one has touched on the extremely strong armed approach of Mr. Obama, nor have they questioned it. Again the question is Why? People don't push for things unless it serves a purpose for THEM.
He also chooses to ignore the current issues. The economy is in shambles, Michigan is second to none now, though yes, California is close. Instead Mr. Obama CONTRIBUTES to national debt. He totes that this new healthcare will decrease the national debt. How? Who is paying for this? How are they paying for it? In the end taxes. If you go back to the base, this tax money is NOTHING but paper, as useful as the confederate dollar. There is ZERO physical money to back up the virtual and paper money we will be passing around.
In 2 years you WILL see politicians elected by the people, for the people, and serving the people. (yeah I don't believe that either but one can dream right).
Wow $940 billion for only 32million people thats about 8% of the US pop. if the pop. is 360mil. We will find out exactly how many people there are after the census. i don't see the big deal we will pay for them anyway, why spend the extra trillion?

Fwiw, California is no where near Michigan's level. People don't seem to understand how screwed we were before the rest of the country decided to have a crisis as well. California still has a lot of programs it can decrease or cut to save money. Michigan is already bare bone, bread and water government...

It's upsetting to see how they strong armed this through, along with those horrendous "bribes". Although keep those faces up people, states can opt out of government healthcare/medicare. Michigan, one of many has already began discussing whether to opt out or not when the time comes, seeing how WE CAN'T AFFORD IT.
But that's if it even actually gets enacted, as of yesterday (3-21-2010) there are already 9 states that have openly put there Attorney General(?) on standby to file lawsuits against this, and thats not counting the umpteen hundred other groups who will file lawsuits.
I really wouldn't care and would enjoy to watch the maelstrom except I'm required to buy heathcare to pay for someone else's problems now
Like Monk(Cadpatninja) said about the abortion deal, you guys tell me how bright you have to be to understand this(not Bart Stupak) Obama passed an Executive order to not use federal money for abortions in this bill. According to law, an Executive order does not overrule constitutional law, which is what this healthcare bill will become, therefore nullifying that very same Executive order and allowing government money for abortions. Wow really?

This thing will be signed, and chances are you won't even notice, at least not right away. It could be completely worse, and it seems like all over the internet people are going batshit about this because "OMG WE HATE TEH OBAMAAAA!!!!!!!"This is why I steer clear of most politics. The majority of it doesn't affect me down to a personal level, and seems to serve no other purpose than to give us ulcers. That would be sort of ironic. A heathcare bill giving people ulcers and other stress-induced problems.
